New Toy and some New Friends!
Ahhh, this weekend has been basically blasted into nothing. I’ve got a new toy, and here she is:

Now I just have to get back on that graphics bike and relearn some old tricks. If you’ve never used a drawing pad for graphics, oh my, it’s HIGHLY recommended!
Second, I’ve joined some good folks over at Reject the UN as a blogger on their team. I’ve dusted off a few old posts and shared them with the readers. I am working on some new ones, too.
Most importantly, TexasFred, a founder of Reject the UN is asking for you all to join the blogroll. The founders of the Reject the UN blog are trying to build this up to be similar to Stop the ACLU. Both are great projects, so get on our Reject the UN blogroll NOW.
Transmission ended.
(been doing some protocol programming too - ergo the TX_End)

Hey Fix, I finally made it over to check out your site, it looks great! I also blogrolled you, not that it will do you any good! Be safe, brother!

Hey Mike!
Thanks for stopping by - and, adding to the _real_ blogroll is always cool! I have added you to mine as well. Just shows that we both like what the other one has to say - mongo-blogrolls just show we’re in the same … part of the blogosphere!
Take care, man!

Getting all geeky again, I see!
So…what ARE the advantages of a “drawing pad?”

Oooh, the most fun is not having to mangle the mouse in some freak-show wrist movement to get a really nice arc or trying to use smudge, like with chalks/charcoal … ever tried to “flick” your mouse to get a short streak of a line? The stylus/pen makes it a snap!
I used the original Wacom pads from old (about 2000/2001). They have kept the “power of the pad” in this 4×5 wonder! And the action of the sylus is still awesome. Shading around and image alone is just effortless …
You can have a fun time just trying different ways to draw stick figures!

Can you post a photo of something you did on the pad? I’d be interested to see what it looks like. A mouse is impossible to use as a pen.

Amy,
Ahhhh! The pressure!
It turns out that the most recent thing I did was the highlight around the image in the previous post, about Text Link Ads … not exactly drawing. But, to get a good highlight, you can use the pressure of the stylus to give a lighter or darker line. Now, that is sooo nice …
OK, I’ll try to put something together.
I bought this so that I could create my own icons for a software product I am developing on my own, at home. Luckily, those are so small, no one can tell I suck at drawing pictures!
