Lady In Blue - for Amy
Alright, in the comments of a previous post, Amy Proctor asked:
Can you post a photo of something you did on the pad? I’d be interested to see what it looks like. A mouse is impossible to use as a pen.
Now, everyone needs to cut this major techno-geek a little slack. It has been about 10 years since the last time I’ve done some Wacom drawing pad sketching. This was about 3 hours of work, and a few, “Hey, Dad, why is her hair just a few or so lines?” Yup, I told them it’s just the frame, I’ll fill it in soon.
So, here’s the final result:

Sheesh … that took a while … slower than the old days … but just as dang fun!
I’ve added a link to the Graphire4 in my sidebar. I am not sure what it costs in your local stores - have fun!

Wow, that’s beautiful! You going to give that to Amy for an avatar?

Hey Laurie … avatar … well, ya know, I never thought of that idea.
I drew this based on an image I saw on on of my daughters’ CD-ROM PC game cases … it was primarily focused on the brow line to the bottom lip. I did a little artistic license with all the rest …
I’d be happy to give it to Amy for an avatar. Not sure, but I don’t think it really looks like her.
She doesn’t have that devious eybrow or over-spikey eyelashes …

I thought the eyebrow was just a little flirty, not devious. And the eyelashes, every woman dreams of eyelashes like that. Now I have visited Amy’s blog a few times and she doesn’t strike me as being overly flirty publicly, but I know there must be just a hint of it somewhere
Speaking of eyelashes though…. that reminds me of that weird dude they are sending back to Colorado, the suspect in the Ramsey murder case. Is it me or does it look like he wears eyeliner? Sort of like David Bowie in understated stage makeup.

Oh, man! That’s awesome! I’m going to have to go back to the original post and find out the name of the pen/pad and how much it costs. I’m having great visions of things I can do with such an instrument. Johnny is quite the artist, as is my dad (literally, an artist). Amazing!

I’ll check out your sidebar. No, I don’t really look like that, but there are similiarities. Great work! Do you mind if I copy it and resize it for a link on my sidebar? Just for fun.

I don’t mind at all!!! Copy away - ’cause if my work was anywhere needing to be copyrighted, YIKES!
It really is fun using this Wacom pad. Even though it is only 4″x5″, you can do quite a bit. I’ve been working on some graphics for a web-app that I am building (outside of real work - a side business I have). The ability to use a pen and have Adobe Photoshop (or whatever) respond to the pen and keyboard commands is … well … SWEET!
I do have a link to the pad in my sidebar, and the price is from Amazon. Not sure, as I’ve said, how much more or less it is than in your local computer gizmos store …
Let me know when you finally have one of these pads! It really is cool, and I’d like to hear all the frustrations growing into awe as you get the hang of the pad.
Hope all is well with you and the family! Say HI to Johnny for me!
I stopped reading the ID/Creation/Evolution thread … after 250+ comments, I was spending more time _reacting_ to nuts and less time programming!

Done! I’ll try to upload it later today.

PS….. I’m starting to comment less on my blog as well. It’s like banging your head against a wall. I understand why people write and disable the comment feature!

Hey Amy, OK, I’ll keep on the lookout for the image!
You know, I kinda went off yesterday in your comments. Why should I have to defend myself? These people are just skimming their information and not really looking into the matter. If they DID do some research, it’d be clear that they are wrong …
And, that’s the reason we bang our heads against the wall with these dopes.
