Project Valour-IT - Please Give Generously!

Alright, John over at Op-For is my team leader for the Valour-IT Project drive this year.

Cox & Forkum’s Valour-IT Project Cartoon

Now, he’s counting on all you US Air Force types to get in there and keep us on top - you know, ’cause the US Air Force OWNS THE SKY! And if you’ve never been in the US Air Force, but like reading the stuff I write, then, please be kind and make a donation via the link I have provided at the top of my sidebar, there on the right. If you make a donation here on my blog, the US Air Force team gets credit for your kindness!

And, well, there still is an inter-Branch rivalry! No one branch wants to be on the bottom of the heap, least of all me! And, I know that John is going into this full AB! So are the other folks I have seen so far on our team roster. Here is our squadron of US Air Force Milbloggers so far:

I’ll continue to update the list as they are updated on the Valour-IT Project site.

Let’s keep getting people involved! This is a GREAT cause and something we all can work on to help our brave men and women defending our freedoms!

God Speed!

    Go, Air Force!

  2. Fix4RSO Says:

Heh! That’s right, let’s keep the US Air Force Team above the cloud layer and owning the skies! It’s so far a great race, and we are in second place.

And, that is in no way a comfortable second place. The US Army Team is pushing hard to stay in front of us all.

And, you all know, we are in this together. But, GO TEAM AIR FORCE!!!

  3. Tim Says:

    Go Navy!

  4. Buck Says:

Hey, there are some Heavy Hitters on the AF blogroll. Malkin, especially!

Oh, and Tim? Don’t be getting all Squidly here. You can do that kinda stuff over here. ;)

Hey, I popped over here after seeing your blog as a referral in my hit counter.

Going out on a limb here, but I’m guessing you were an SR-71 RSO. For the first two years of my enlistment, I was an avionics tech on the CAPRE system (sorry we could never get those darn RCDs to work for you guys!) so I just thought I’d say hi!

  6. Fix4RSO Says:

    Hey Dave!

Actually, you and I were in the same AFSC!!! I was a 328×4 from 81-87, and Beale AFB was my _LAST_ assignment.

I think you and I both have some stories between the two of us, wouldn’t ya say? :)

  7. DaveG Says:

I was a 322×2A, I think. It’s getting to be quite awhile ago! My first assignment was Beale, but after a year or so I volunteered worldwide, which in the Recce world is the same as saying “send me to Osan.” From there I extended a year to do a two-year stint at Zweibrucken. The RF-4C’s weren’t as interesting as the SR, but TAC made up for that by being a more dynamic work environment (e.g. it commonly offered the attraction of getting to wear chem gear for 12 hours a day)

Thanks for the visit, and the comment. Looking at this…Wow! I don’t think I’ve followed the whole list out before. Nice work.

Listening to all y’alls comments brings back some memories. I was a 328X1 80-83. Worked F-4Es. (I actually remember a time when TAC decided they didn’t need three shifts to keep planes in working order…I also remember a 30mm gun pod that fell in a swamp at the EOR on approach one time…) Only did one enlistment, though.

I know this is going to sound like a selfish plug–it’s not meant that way. But, I created a video for Marty @ Any Soldier a while back. I’ve got it uploaded on my site. Yeah…it went to the Army..but it’s good for all of us. check it out. Here’s the address: http://wednesdaysmuse.blogspot.com/2006/10/any-soldier-video.html

    GO TEAM AIR FORCE!
