Valour-IT Book Auction and Day-By-Day Funny!
Richard S. Lowry has offered to auction two of his books for this years Valour-IT donation drive.
Valour-IT Air Force Team Member CoInSide is managing the auction for us. The auction ends in 8 days, so you need to get there, manage your bids, and GET THESE BOOKS!
And, let’s get this donation drive going, Air Force folks! Yesterday, it was fun to watch how we were in second place for the bulk of the day! It would be really great if we could, at the very least, hold second place to the end!
Wouldn’t it … ???

Buck, I checked out that link you gave me, but I don’t understand. What is all of this?

Just to let you know…Working nights like I do, I am up at midnight CT US and post the numbers every day. We were third on the 2nd. Other than that Team Air Force has ALWAYS held second at close of day. I can’t guarantee the dawn, but we have taken the night away from the jarheads and dogs…(lol)

Oopps…Nuts…I stand corrected…I was looking at my info wrong. But…we’ve been back and forth with those “pesky” jarheads all along…that means…WE CAN TAKE ‘EM! They aint so tough. Let’s finish the mission.

Coach has got a lock on this whole thing! We can take ‘em, really! C’mon, we just need to get everyone involved to get the Air Force Team in the lead. I’ve contacted a couple of associations to which I belong, as well as my local Air Force Association’s President and Treasurer to get everyone into “The Blue”!!!
Get your thinkin’ caps on, folks, we gotta take the lead and keep it!

What about the Army? Air Force??? Come on!
Just kidding. All branches work together (but the Army is best)

“(but the Army is best)”
You’re dreaming. Navy: Let The Journey Begin!

Okay, after a couple days in 3rd place, we need to rally here, Air Force. Only 5 days left and we haven’t yet hit the half way mark.

I watch this often, every day. I’ve tried so many different avenues to get more people involved. I’m bummed, ’cause I thought that the Air Force Team could attain and then maintain a top collection rate. Seems to be not true …
I’ve contacted my local Air Force Assoc Pres/Treas/VPComm. I contacted some AFSOC folks to which I have a slight association. I’ve touched all of my professional contacts - without being too annoying. And, I’ve sent some e-mail to some “news celeb-types” to get some more activity.
Are we all trying to hit multiple avenues, or is it just me … ???
Well, I’ve got a few more ideas to try …
I even succeeded in getting a friend, whos fiancee is a Marine, to donate to the Air Force! C’mon, she crossed the inter-branch rivalry!!!
November 6th, 2006 at 17:32
Well, I don’t have too many AF contacts to hit up, so I just keep running my mouth on my blog hoping somebody is reading it
My 3 regular readers are already part of the competition. LOL! Actually my stats are up a bit since the competition has been running but no idea how many donations I’m generating.

I know, it’s hard to know whether or not our message has had an impact. Not like we need any “stroking”, but it would be nice to know you have any affect at all …
I just wish the Air Force types were more like the other branches …
November 7th, 2006 at 13:35
I guess the celeb types donated to Navy
But seriously, we seem to be stuck at just the half way mark, hasn’t moved much at all in the last couple of days. Maybe the thing needs a good kicking to make it move again?
November 7th, 2006 at 13:52
You’re right, Laurie, we’re stuck at around $22k … buggers. Well, actually, we’re a “stuck pig” ’cause the Navy just kicked us ALL outta the running!
As a whole project, it’s nice to see the grand total near $110k!!! I hope we can all close the gap and make the $180k goal by Veteran’s Day!!!
