NIE - Nothing Intelligent Exuded

Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

Ah yes, we now have another back-N-forth issued from within our own borders. This NIE Report, which no one has even read yet, makes more trouble than it is worth. In fact, I believe that this latest NIE Report gives more ammo to scary world leaders like Putin and Ahmadinejad. And now, with “insightful?” commentary from StratFor’s writer George Friedman, proof is now up front that we’ve got a bigger problem listening to the likes of the NIE Report which has little HUMINT data.

Here, these two paragraphs just got me to sit up and read this article carefully:

With this announcement, the dynamics of the Middle Eastern region, Iraq and U.S.-Iranian relations shift dramatically. For one thing, the probability of a unilateral strike against Iranian nuclear targets is gone. Since there is no Iranian nuclear weapons program, there is no rationale for a strike. Moreover, if Iran is not engaged in weapons production, then a broader air campaign designed to destabilize the Iranian regime has no foundation either.

The NIE release represents a transformation of U.S. policy toward Iran. The Bush administration made Iran’s nuclear weapons program the main reason for its attempt to create an international coalition against Iran, on the premise that a nuclear-armed Iran was unacceptable. If there is no Iranian nuclear program, then what is the rationale for the coalition? Moreover, what is the logic of resisting Iran’s efforts in Iraq, rather than cooperating?

The second sentence in the second paragraph is where you should all begin to sit up and take note. If you believe that that sentence leads you to believe that we are wrong for being watchful when it comes to Iran’s nuclear weapons development program, I weep for you …

Be very careful, people - this isn’t just Israel we are talking about. In today’s world, Pearl Harbor is now your own backyard. Weapons can be delivered farther than a series of aircraft that can only reach the Hawaiian Islands. And we are only 2 days away from that ill fated day … take heed.

I was gonna try to stretch this one out …

But, 47 days is long enough.

I have been trying to test when my overall traffic would fall off based on inactivity on my part. I noticed that no matter how hard I worked on my posts, I kept a steady state of 12-18 hits per day. That’s OK, but I was losing a ton of sleep - and with a new job that requires travel, well, blogging was getting tough for the return.

Then, a few family things happened, and I had to stop blogging.

I began to watch the numbers day to day.

Of course, hits per day fell to about 10-12 … hmmm … they started to climb. Huh … ???

I have been averaging 30-35 hits per day the last 30 days. I have not posted - been itchin’ to post, but, had to stick to my guns and watch traffic. Kept growing from 10-12 -to- 30-35 … no ’splain’in … as Desi used to say to Lucy!

Also, TTLB and Technorati weren’t sufferin’ too bad either. What on earth is goin’ on …

More to come, I think. Maybe this post will make my numbers … fall … ???

The 104.9 Missile hit me DEAD SPOT ON!

Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

Dang, I thought that I had dodged the bullet. Alas, not so … celebrity fever smack down has hit me as well. My wife got slammed about a day before me, so the whole house is a friggin’ sick ward!

If you see this virus hit anyone that your kids come into contact with, or someone you know at your work, then I have one thing to say:

RUN, DON’T WALK TO THE EXIT!!!

Yikes, what an evil virus. And, if you had a flu shot, this one was not on their list. Twits! I never get flu shots anymore as I believe it is a complete waste of time.

104.9 - Just Not Right

Monday, February 19th, 2007

Well, we’re back home, early …

Our youngest, who is Type I diabetic (insulin dependent) had a temperature of 104.9! We tried to control it, but ended up going to Eisenhower Emergency (Palm Desert/Palm Springs/Rancho Mirage) just to be sure. That emergency room was like a place I never want to go again. You really do experience the depth to which our medical system has been dragged once you enter California’s emergency rooms. I felt like I stepped into someone’s cruel idea they had in store for those requiring immediate care.

One woman had waited SEVEN HOURS to be seen. For what condition, I have no idea, but at least she was mobile and capable. Our daughter was at 103-105, tired, it was 1am, and people were coughing. By 2am, we asked the triage nurse to check her temperature - if it dropped, we’d go home. It had slipped a bit closer to 102, so the nurse gave us some tylenol, and we took her back to the house.

Yesterday morning, I jammed everything in the car, we topped her off with some more tylenol, and hit the road for the 8+ hour drive home. Both girls were tired, but I think they feel better being in their own home.

For a short vacation, it was a bust … too bad …

Seems the family has a rift

Sunday, November 19th, 2006

I have been doing a ton of reading lately. 5GW (5th Generation Warfare) has sparked a renewed interest in all things military and the approach to warfare. OK, I never really left that path, but work with me here. :)

As I was working my way deeper into this subject, I have found that I deviate, severely, from what has been the most authoritative work on the generations of warfare. I cannot say that this work is the only resource. However, I can say that most folks I have chatted with regarding subject of warfare through four distinct generations, base their root analysis on Mr. Lind’s work. I’ve been working through what I see in today’s warfare, based on my experiences within the USAF and the missions I was a part, and I think I am seeing a path not well traveled.

That said, I have to say, my posts have been very few lately! I think that there are a few more things to research, but it seems from this toil there are going to be several posts dedicated to this subject.

Therefore, I’m gonna post something new, right after this post, that is a tad bit more lighthearted to get back into the bloggin’ rhythm … OK?

When Liberal Democrats Rule the “Free” World

Wednesday, October 18th, 2006

Economy has looked pretty good lately, huh? Gas prices are falling again and getting closer to the semi-recent norm. The stock market is continuing to soar, breaking records again and again. Tax breaks have fueled this growth, and the more the merrier! But, if you live in California as I do, you’d see that businesses are leaving and so are the people - this blue state is blue ’cause she’s being strangled by Liberal Democrats that just love the tax ‘em ’til they die approach.

Have any of you looked at your sample ballots? Do you actually read the fiscal projections and cost estimates? Have you come to fear these terms: bond act, funding protection, trust fund act, tax on [enter free market product here], parcel tax, corporate tax, and regulation of private party (substitute eminent domain)? Have you added up everything they are throwing at you this November, not to include the costs that we will incur from their abysmal record on national security and the war on terror?

I did. Here’s this November’s Costs:

Prop Cost? $$$
1A - Unk
1B Y $19.925 Billion
1C Y $2.85 Billion
1D Y $10.416 Billion
1E Y $4.09 Billion
83 Y $2.125 Billion
84 Y $10.5 Billion
85 Y $70.0 Million
86 Y $20.1 Billion
87 Y $4.0 Billion
88 Y $4.5 Billion
89 Y $2.0 Billion
90 - Unk
$80.576 Billion

OK, so, some of those costs have been estimated over ten (10) years and some are distributed over thirty (30) years. The key to remember is that some are due now and some are per annum. For those that had a per annum value I multiplied by 10 - c’mon, you know these last forever, but 10 seemed sorta round and not too crazy. But …

THIS TOTALS $80.576 BILLION ! ! ! ! !

I hope you are reading your ballots, borrowing your kids calculator from their backpack, and realizing we’re being smacked right in the teeth again, and again, and again …

Vote NO on all bonds. Safest bet in the world people.

Kondracke Follows Sammon into the Masher

Tuesday, October 10th, 2006

I was watching Special Report with Brit Hume Friday night. Jim Angle was sitting in for Brit, and things went smoothly along through various stories of the day and week. Then, we get to the Round Table, and Jim begins one of the segments discussing North Korea and their threats (which yesterday no longer was a threat). Did you happen to see this segment? If you did, were you aware that Bill Sammon lead Mort Kondracke right into Alice’s Rabbit Hole?

Oh yes, it was fun to watch!

The discussion was swirling around North Korea threatening to blow up a nuke. Bill Sammon and Bill Kristol were doing a great job laying down the path to how we got here, and why Democrats trying to blame this on Bush is just lame - well and flat out wrong. Mort decided it was time to get his views in and suggested that the United States needs to do something proactive and forceful. He was leaning, but not overtly saying, we need to go in with force.

Bill Sammon’s ears perked up on this one.

Bill started choosing his words wisely and leaving Mort time to answer. Bill was reeling Mort in, and I truly think Mort had no idea what was happening. I’ll paraphrase the conversation because I cannot, for the life of me, find transcripts or text on any other blog via Google search. I’ll continue to search the blogosphere, and if you see anything or you’ve posted on this, let me know! Anyway, here is a very loose account of how this went down:

Mort: We really need to get in there and show North Korea we mean business.
Bill: Mort, are you suggesting military action?
Mort: Well, we could provide a strong example of force.
Bill: Are you suggesting, Mort, that we use the US Military and enter, or bomb North Korea?
Mort: We could put military pressure on them …
Bill: Mort, are you suggesting that we enter a sovereign nation, one that has been torturing, murdering, and unafraid to use weapons of mass destruction, and fight there on their soil?
Mort: Well, I mean …
Bill: Mort, are you saying to invade …
Mort: Yes!
Bill: Mort, you’re saying we should invade a nation with a dictator who has no qualms killing his own people, taking over that nation, and return it to the people, like we are in Iraq and in Afghanistan?
Mort: Yes.

It was so striking, I still cannot believe I saw Bill Sammon suck Mort Kondracke in to such an admission. I believe that, as this conversation continued, even Bill Kristol went on to point out that even if we did what Mort was suggesting, we’d just have the same situation we have now with Liberal Democrats - Bush lied, people die.

Bill Sammon was great by slamming the door on the whole thing by closing it all up with the, “Democrats will be OK with action against North Korea for a couple of months, and then they’ll be demanding special investigations and impeachment proceedings for a failed policy with North Korea …”

Blah-Blah-Blah. Mort and the Liberal Democrats just don’t get it.

As Homer Simpson says, “Stupid Flanders!”

Poignant Moments in Life’s Reflections

Friday, October 6th, 2006

I like to visit HighBoy’s blog, Christ Matters. You all know me as someone that speaks out with conviction regarding our troops, the defense of our great nation, and where I see politics drifting off into the weeds. The one subject I don’t think I have ever touched on is religion. I visit HighBoy and Amy Proctor’s Bottom Line Up Front to get my “fix” as it were. And remember, I use the word “fix” in this blog to mean two things: repair the system and provide a waypoint. This post is a waypoint …

I am going to post comments I made to one of HighBoys discussion threads. It’s about the pro-abortion position, so if you have this as one of your “sticky points” either move on or read on.

As it happened, the discussion was pretty heated, and in my first comment (#17) I made a few “Fix4RSO-like” goofey comments within some fair points of contention. I also made some points that I feel resonated quite well with my inner self and soul. Then, the discussion came to how many weeks means a fetus is “real”, and how can we have respect for life when innocent lives are being destroyed in Iraq (Bush lied, innocent people died) and it struck me: we are defending ourselves from Islamofascists that have made it, and continue to reiterate, their life’s goal to kill us all - all infidels! So again, we are defending ourselves, yet, what about the innocent life that cannot defend itself?

Remember, I warned you … continue at your own peril, the rest of this post all the way to the bottom is straight from comment (#32) :)

Interesting - this has finally devolved into saying that defending oneself from being killed is not OK, yet, a fetus that cannot defend itself is OK to be killed …

By your arguments, Jody, I am wrong for disagreeing with both of my above statements.

All this arguing to keep abortion available to those that want a “nicer life ’cause the FETUS is going to ruin my cozy Sunday mornings reading the paper in bed” is all for naught.

God knows you’ve sinned.

When you meet him, you’ll finally understand. And, if you do not believe in God, then, don’t worry! Which is exactly why all those pro-abortion types should worry, and do, and flail like crazy trying to make the rest of us come down to their level.

At least here on earth they’ll feel better … for a while. It’s that eternity-thang I’m actually paying attention to right now. So, pardon me if I refuse to lower myself so far down to accept this new form of euthenasia … life, no matter which week, day, hour, second, fraction of a second, is precious.

You’ll never wrest from me the respect and love that I have for the unborn life. This is where we all come to, in the end, and where we always shall part ways. You’ll never respect or love it as we do, and we will never slice it to the week or second to have a “happy life without a little hard work”.

And, you DO NOT KNOW my situation, or that of my children. For those of us parents that have a heavier burden than others, take heed.

By your hand, one of my children would not be here.

She would NOT have placed the fake flower on the chair next to me, giggle, and run away down the hall. Then, when she thought I was not looking, the flower is replaced with the huge spider from the Halloween decorations … all just her little game …

And, my joy.

He looks down on her with love, and that love is spread to our entire family. His love is in her smile, her patience, and her determination to understand just what it is that makes her different from all of her classmates.

She cries - we hug her.
She asks - we explain, and hug her.
She lives - we hug her a bunch.

We cry, when she is not looking.

May God have mercy on your soul. It is His will that I forgive you, and you may not understand and take this the wrong way, but that is His will.

It shall be done.

When will the Lead Shoe Fall?

Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006

In my last two posts I have been writing about strong US Presidents of action and those who succumb to the “governing law of inaction.” In parallel I have been listening to the radio (Rush for one) as well as a few news shows (I especially like Neil Cavuto). What has been nagging at me, and has come out full force recently, is the current perception of the Bush Administration. In fact, I just received my e-mail missive, the Stratfor Geopolitical Intelligence Report: Bush and the Perception of Weakness, and George Friedman is quite, clear, on his perception of the President and our current situation:

“Whatever the perception in the United States, Bush’s enemies overseas are not impressed by his self-assurance, and his allies are getting very worried that, like Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford, his political weakness will not allow him to control the U.S. course.”

“We believe that, in the end, reality governs perception. But we are not convinced that, in this case, the perception and the reality are not one and the same; and we are not convinced that, in the coming weeks, the perception is not in fact more important than the reality. And if the Republicans lose the upcoming elections, the perception that Bush lacks the plans and political power needed for decisive action will become the reality.”

“For Bush to be able to execute the foreign policy he wants, his party must win the midterm elections. For that to happen, Bush must get control of the political situation quickly. To do that, he must change the perception that his own administration is out of control.”

“Easy to write. Harder to do.”

These last paragraphs come after a long, and effusive, near-to-rant about Republicans, and the Bush Administration. I can care less if these guys at Stratfor are Liberal or Conservative, it’s just the fact that they are promulgating the perception of which this missive spells out quite, long-windedly … :)

And, as I read this, I’m thinking, “Hmmm. The Republican’s October Surprise … when does Karl Rove drop the lead shoe?”

I think that Mr. Rove is head-and-shoulders above James Carville when it comes to political gamesmanship. Karl Rove is the consummate politico - and I believe he’s OK with that assessment. If anyone can dust an opponent, I believe that man is Karl Rove. I also sense, and I know that’s not very Conservative/Logical, that Mr. Rove is timing his strike. I think that the salvo will be more than enough to trap the Liberal and Democrat squealers in a big ol’ fashioned hog tie.

And then, the field of battle went quiet.

It’s October, the air is getting colder, and the Democrats are starting to run out of stringers with good copy against Republicans. The Democrats have nothin’ when it comes to a domestic or foreign policy, except tax ‘em to death, kill SUVs, cigarettes are bad, Wal Mart is evil, and cut-n-run ’cause we liked it when Billy-Bob Clinton was making the US Military report to the United Nations! The Liberal Democrat platforms of today are nothing more than a shrill, socialist, terrorist loving, party politic wench dressed up in Diane Keaton dresses and Famolares from the 70’s!

(if you don’t remember those mountains of hard rubber with dainty straps known as Famolares, here’s a snap from their site)

Sorry, Famolare Co, I used to sell your shoes in the late 70’s. And, the double entendre here is PLATFORMS, people … Democrat platforms <=> clunky platform shoes. Git it?!

When we had shoe wars in the stock room, Famolares were considered the cruise missile of shoes! Dang things hurt like a - you know!

Anyway.

Wonder what Karl has on tap … how about you?

Yellow Cake with French Frosting

Thursday, September 21st, 2006

Have ya ever tasted yellow cake? You know, that nondescript cake mix in your supermarket … not exactly the favorite of all but some like it. I, however, speak of a different variety. The one I like most is the one Saddam likes as well.

That wonderful cake mix that WMDs are made from. :)

As I was reading the Senate Intelligence Committee Phase II Report, I came upon this teensy-weensy little paragraph offered up by our august body:

PHASE II REPORT — PDF pg 16, printed pg 13
“(U) On October 6, 2002, the CIA sent a fax to the White House providing information on why the DCI had advised that a reference to Iraq seeking uranium from Africa be removed from a speech the President intended to deliver in Cincinnati. CIA offered three points: “(1) The evidence is weak. One of the two mines cited by the source as the location of the uranium oxide is flooded. The other mine cited by the source is under the control of the French authorities. (2) The procurement is not particularly significant to Iraq’s nuclear ambitions because the Iraqis already have a large stock of uranium oxide in their inventory. And (3) we have shared points one and two with Congress, telling them that the Africa story is overblown and telling them this is one of the two issues where we differed with the British.”

OK, one mine is flooded, fine, maybe that’s true, maybe it’s not. And, glaringly obvious above is the fact that Saddam and the Iraqi’s “already have a large stock of uranium oxide in their inventory”. Hello!!!

But am I to believe that the FRENCH are pure as the wind driven snow?! C’mon people, how can we listen to the likes of the “Gang of 14″ (you’d see in my previous post that Snowe and Hagle are more RINOs than Republicans - or just intelligence IDIOTS!) and these wanna-be intelligence officers? Sheesh! Even in Senator Snowe’s release regarding this Phase II Report, she says the committee unanimously voted to release this report.

ARRRGH! And she released this on the fifth anniversary of September 11th!

But, alas, she is wrong - there was one that refused to release the report - the Honorable Senator Trent Lott, (R) Mississippi, was the lone wolf against this travesty of grandstanding and nihilism! (i love that last word - i’m gonna keep using it anywhere i can!) :) The proof is in the vote tally; she should pay attention next time before she uses a word, like, unanimously.

I’ve posted before, and this is only one look into the fistula that is the GWOT (Global War on Terror), how Iraq was pushing very hard to work closely with France. In this FMSO doc, it is blatant and clear just what was a-foot (take a step with me, here - pun intended):

Tariq Aziz to Saddam on France
TARIQ ‘AZIZ: After the General Assembly, when meeting with the French Prime Minister in private, I asked him, “how is your relation with Guinea Bissau?” He replied, “very good”. Thereafter, I told him, “I would like you to take care of that … that is to say, for them to take our side. Therefore, he promises to do just that. We are expecting the atmosphere in the Security Council to change relatively from last year, to our advantage, especially if we achieve greater progress with Ekeus’s file. The French, was reserved [firm] in regards to Ekeus or to the issue of Resolution 986, that is to say, he has a firm attitude. He told me, “when you go to Paris you can discuss the issues”. Thereafter, when I arrived in Paris, two days before the official meeting, I observed through my discussion with their Ambassador and [UNINTELLIGIBLE] which they are our close friends from the French Foreign Ministry, that the atmosphere in France is firm, that is to say, it is firm with us … I told my friend, which is the person who we communicate through, to setup a secret meeting with Jacques Chirac, so we finish … [INTERRUPTED] … They said that it could be difficult. I told them to talk to him and see, at any rate, if he could not see me, let us talk on the phone … By God, the next day he contacted me and said, I am coming to see you right now, ahhh … meaning, I am on my way right now. He brought a phone with him when he came. However, Sir, this happened because of the stipulations on us to …
SADDAM: [Yes]
TARIQ ‘AZIZ: … [INTERRUPTED] Your Excellency, I must tell you this to complete the picture, he brought the phone with him and I talked with the President [Jacques Chirac] At the beginning, he started by saying, I want to help you. You are … [INTERRUPTED] Truthfully, I told him in so many words ahhh … what these issues require and what we are now asking. I also told him that we have not met for eleven months; we need to meet so we can provide you with information about Ekeus. He [Ekeus] will not present his report unless you apply pressure against the American pressure, which is the past Italian pressure. I explained other points to him and honestly, without hesitation, he said, “I will give instructions to the Foreign Ministry now to be completely open with you and to exchange and analyze the information, we will help you. We will call to give instructions to our Ambassador in New York to work in complete coordination with you in regards to this specific issue”. When I met with the Prime Minister on the evening of the next day, after my meeting with the Foreign Minister, during the private interview, he said, … I said, I ahhh … I mean, this issue was … I mean, when I met with the Foreign Minister, he was excited, I mean, not bad … [Laughing] … Foreign Minister? This is what we need from you, to pressure Ekeus, scrutinize him, and ask him when he will be finished and to tell him that this is what Iraq has provided, also for your Ambassador in New York to do whatever he is able to do. He told me yes, especially at the time when the Foreign Relations are warm, and the leadership is cold. Now it is the opposite, the situation has been reversed, the leadership is warm, and the Foreign Relations are cold, however, he told me that this has been solved. Chirac met with me today and told me to take the procedures and tell the Minister and the Ambassador and assure them that this issue has been solved. Therefore, the man was sure of his promise over the phone and put the Prime Minister in charge of giving the instructions. The Foreign Minister was friendly and serious at the meeting. We know the Minister, we met him before, however, we reached a level of understanding and he followed the instructions. I mean, at the end, when I was leaving, he assured me of his support, encouraged me, and said, if you are able, even by phone, call me and inform me if anything should happen. I mean, he encourages quick communications. Therefore, if they did not have the will for teamwork and cooperation, I believe, after my visit to Paris, the French position has been restored.

Again, are we all to believe that France is not a part in all this? Did you also take the time to follow the Oil for Food mess?

C’mon, we didn’t create that stupid “Freedom Fries” term for nothing! :)

These RINOs are killing this country, and the Liberals are shoving them in the back, right off the cliff! Are you gonna wake up and tell them they are on the wrong planet? ‘Cause, we’re all pretty much alone out here, folks - Senate Republicans left a loooooong time ago.

How the Senate Jiggers with the Truth

Tuesday, September 19th, 2006

I have spent considerable time reading the recently released Senate report, Postwar Findings about Iraq’s WMD

Programs and Links to Terrorism and How they Compare with Prewar

Assessments. This document was written to give us, the people, a clear and objective account. The investigation and oversight process has always had a core value: to get to the truth and provide that to the people. However, it has been my experience (and in this report, the Honorable Trent Lott’s as well) that it is not the truth but grandstanding and agenda fulfilling nihilism that has infected the Senate and House.
This is the first post regarding this report. Near the end of the document you’ll find a tally related to amendments to this document. The tally is to record what someone wanted to change, and how all the committee members voted on that action, desire, or recommendation. It is amazing that for what it’s worth, there are really only 6 Republicans on the Senate Intelligence Committee (Roberts, Hatch, DeWine, Bond, Lott, and Chambliss). In the following tables I provide the sponsor of the change (BY:), what the sponsor wanted to do (ACTION:), the action to be taken (ADDED:), the result of the vote overall (RESULT:), and finally the vote for each committee member (A/N). The last two columns are the party of the committee member, and whether or not the member’s vote crossed (C = *) the majority party vote.
You’ll see, we’ve got two rogue Republicans. It is also noteworthy that not one Democrat caved. Clearly, the Democrats understand what it means to “hold the line” - even if they’re whacked. (note: i’ll get this into a table later - it’s late!)

What is even more astounding is that only the Honorable Trent Lott, Senator, Mississippi, was against the entire report. I suspect the reason is because he has been privy to all the intelligence information since September 11th, 2001, and has found that this report is more an agenda paper than it is a true investigative report intended to support the oversight process.
Well, just to ensure you see what I mean, here are some “dissenting” remarks provided by four of the Republican Senators on the committee (Bond, Hatch, Lott, Chambliss):

“(U) We joined the Senate Intelligence Committee to conduct oversight, not to perform witch hunts; we serve on the Senate Intelligence Committee to make our Intelligence Community better, not to use it for partisan politics; we travel overseas to speak with our operators on the ground in order to gain insights in how to support them and make them successful. As such, we have endeavored to work with colleagues on both sides of the aisle to accommodate as many concerns as possible, and we believe it is time to move forward with the active intelligence oversight.”

Yeah, he said witch hunt!!! :)
The above comments came much later in the document (pg 147). Right out of the gate, I believe that Trent Lott was trying to communicate to those of us reading this report how this committee’s action was all a waste. Here is the first paragraph to get the ball rolling:

“(U) Any investigation that the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (Committee or SSCI) undertakes should ultimately improve the Intelligence Community (IC) and enhance our national security. Unlike independent commissions, panels and boards, the oversight committees of Congress have the power to effect change. The fifteen members of this Committee along with our counterparts in the House of Representatives and our Committee staffs comprise the only oversight bodies outside of the Executive Branch with the authority to execute a difficult, and much needed, intelligence transformation. This second report in a series of reports coming from a second round investigation into Iraq prewar intelligence comes at a critical juncture. Yet, rather than attempt to improve our efforts to combat terrorism and make our country safer, the results of this investigation were calculated to promote a partisan agenda. Thus, sadly, the Committee’s two-year-long, second investigation of Iraq pre-war intelligence has failed to heed a higher call.”

I know that that is long. But it speaks directly to how we are endangering ourselves as a nation by running around creating useless reports from the perspective of a Committee. Intelligence gathered in the field is by nature raw and without political impact. It does not care to what party you belong, it just says this guy did that to this guy and at the same time this happened over here to ignite an even more violent reaction … blah, blah, blah. It is our politicians that take the data and … retool it for their own benefit.
Check this out, my last paragraph, but this part is a good old fashioned throw down:

“(U) Immediately following September 11 as well as after our invasion of Iraq, a number of outstanding investigations were conducted that produced actionable findings and recommendations in seminal documents [a list is provided] …”
“… Yet, for the past two years, rather than pursue our oversight role to ensure that some of the key findings and recommendations of the reports and others were enacted, this Committee’s usefulness as an oversight body and as a key element in our national security apparatus has been consumed by a rear-view mirror investigation pursued for political ends. If this second round investigation had offered the Congress and the American people additional insights that the plethora of previous reports had overlooked, than we would have stood together in full support of it. The truth is, however, that it does not.”

So, we spend two years not uncovering one thing that makes this report stand out from the rest. Sure, Liberals are going to tell you that this report proves that we went to war on a lie - but it really doesn’t.
You just need to read it to know why the Liberals are wrong. Yet, sadly, no one is really reading this report they are just riffing on someone else’s half-baked analysis.
Until you truly take the time, do some work, you’ll remain someone else’s sock puppet.

Sullying those in the White Hats

Friday, August 11th, 2006

I know that this is becoming too much of a habit, but being away from the blog recently has been family related. Our youngest went through a required surgery - not too much fun for a little one. She’s getting better, so, today there are a few moments to post some comments regarding what I’ve been reading in the news and blogosphere lately.

In GrassFire.org’s latest project, there is a petition to sign that is VERY important. The border patrol has been our last bastion against wholesale stupidity regarding our porous southern border. Two border patrol agents are being prosecuted for capturing and attempting to arrest a drug smuggler from Mexico. Um, what a minute, we let the bad guy go free and we’re gonna put the good guys in jail?! Here’s Steve Elliott’s latest e-mail comments:

“Even though I’m familiar with this story, it still makes me angry that our nation seems more concerned with illegal aliens than with their own citizens–especially men of law who are trying to protect our borders!

It is absolutely insane that we would allow an illegal drug smuggler to literally walk away from his transgressions for his testimony against these two Border Agents. And to think this same illegal alien is now in the process of suing our government for millions because he believes his civil rights were violated?

What about the rights of us citizens? What about the rights of those he was going to peddle his drugs to?”

Can’t ya hear the awe and amazement, let alone digust, in his comments? I’ve read up on this story and there are numerous articles and posts regarding this situation. No matter your proclivity, this is completely unacceptable.

Head on over to sign the petition at GrassFire.org and keep the heat on!

Israel, The UN, Code Pink, and Terrorists

Monday, July 31st, 2006

I was fuming up a storm over at Amy’s blog this evening. I haven’t had time to write here, but I got rolling to the point I realized I needed to post my rant here. It is a blog after all … ;)

The UN is the hotbed for despots and tin horn scum. The UN has never solved anything, and never will for that matter. Do you want some evidence? It would fill anyone’s blog to the point of collapse!

The UN does not care for Israel one iota. Israel is the plaything of the world and she has been smote more than enough times. It is time to bring all forces to bear against the evil we all know to be in front of us all.

I’ve got news for you, the Soviet Union of old is nothing compared to the “new breed”. At least the USSR had belonged to a code that we could reason with - albeit it was difficult but doable.

9/11 is the catalyst and we have been on this path since that day. Awakeing the sleeping giant begets one big can of whoop-ass! Well, unless you’re Bill Clinton or John F. Kerry! Sheesh, just think if Jimmy “Peanut” Carter was in office! What a mess … appeasers all.

To believe that a “group hug” (appeasement) with a terrorist is the solution, I say go hug! They’ll play nice with you until we are all dead. The we are those who love this country and freedom. Once we are all dead, you are next you twit!

You think that they give a wit about you at all? You’re a friggin’ tool! And, you’re a tool that is not much use to them except to divide just enough whereby the evil can begin to seep deep into the wound you’ve started.

Keep picking the scab you “Code Pink” idiots. You know not what evil you are allowing into the system! At least Neville Chamberlain could admit that his stance was wrong - we’ll get nothing like that from all these dolts ’cause it’s all about the destruction of George W. Bush as payback for “Hot Pants” Clinton and “Global Shmarming” Gore.

Those that still cling to the dream that the UN is great need to watch the movie “Batman:The Movie” from 1966. To see those nuts around the table just looks, perfect! ;)

How many of you think that placing the control of US forces under the UN’s command is a good thing? We have quite a few examples and all were complete failures.

I weep for our future!

Megalomaniac is NOT a kit from Lego!

Sunday, July 23rd, 2006

The fact that Saddam was capable of using chemical weapons against his own people is proof he is a megalomaniac. Saddam was also the type of leader that had no qualms executing anyone that took an opposing position to his. One final facet giving a VVS clarity to this gem of a megalomaniac is, well, read on:

He said MUSTACHE HAIR?!
FMSO Document ISGP-2003-00014647-HT.pdf

So you read, from this FMSO document, that Saddam’s idea was to enshrine hairs from his mustache, right? And, this letter is to be written on solid gold! (without the dancers - you’d have to have lived in the ’80s, people)

Oh, right, you didn’t know how his “cookie crumb duster” was to be kept safe from the elements and thieves so read on:

Lead, Mustache Hairs, and Gold - OH MY!
FMSO Document ISGP-2003-00014647-HT.pdf

Lead, glass, gold, and mustache hairs. Uh-huh, megalomaniac.

I wonder if Kim Jong Il has some spiky locks from the top of his head in one of his “Paper Dong II” missiles … ???

GUEST POST FOR: CAII - Coalition Against Illegal Immigration
CROSS POSTED FROM: BLOGMEISTER USA

We all know there are people out there who are willing to provide fake documentation to illegal immigrants. That in and of itself is appalling. What’s more appalling, however, is when state employees decide to get in on the action:

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) — A fifth employee of the state Department of Motor Vehicles has been arrested on charges of selling driver’s licenses to illegal aliens and criminals.

Cynthia White, 42, of Bridgeport was charged Tuesday with two counts of violating the state Corrupt Organizations and Racketeering Act, three counts of bribe taking, two counts of conspiracy to commit second-degree forgery and one count of second-degree forgery.

Superior Court Judge Patrick Carroll ordered her held in lieu of $150,000 bond and continued the case to June 30.

Conrod Davy, 21, of Hartford was charged Tuesday with acting as a middleman in the transactions.

Police said White sold 110 driver’s licenses and 36 IDs for $2,000 each. A number of the sales were made through Davy at area strip bars, police said.

The arrests came as part of a wide-ranging investigation by state police into the illegal selling of Connecticut driver’s licenses. The probe has led police all over the country, where illegal aliens and felons have been picked up with Connecticut licenses in their pockets.

In addition to White, state police arrested four other Bridgeport DMV employees, Venita Bines, Tracy Lucas-Stevenson, Karin Birch and Jannette Rodriguez. Authorities say they sold more than 1,500 licenses and nearly 1,000 Connecticut identification cards from June 2000 to December 2004.

Police said on some days illegal aliens were lined up 10 deep at the women’s windows to buy driver’s licenses for between $1,000 and $2,000. All five were fired before their arrests.

Bines and Lucas-Stevenson have since pleaded guilty and are facing up to 10 years in prison. The other cases are pending.

A number of the sales were made at strip bars? Well, at least we know the illegals are enjoying their time in between day jobs.

It feels so good knowing that employees on the public’s dime have taxpayers’ best interests at heart. As a Connecticut resident, I feel truly blessed.

Eh, Welcome to Wachingtun DC! (deColores)

Thursday, May 25th, 2006

Yesterday, we got snarfed. The Senate has done it again and followed the Chevy Maverick of politicians, McCain. That guys no maverick, he’s a May Pole that’s not wrapped too tight!

Both the CAII and Grassfire.org are blasting the blogosphere with the current event of the day, today. And, the calls are going out to pound Wachington (my new pronunciation, like the mexicali twang?) with cards, letters, faxes, phone calls, and e-mails! These pinheads haven’t a clue what sort of fire they’re startin’, do they?!

Here’s how our firestarter over at Grassfire.org lays it down:

The Senate just passed it’s Hagel-Martinez Amnesty bill — what we call the “No Illegal Alien Left Behind Act” — by a final vote of 62-36.

If you have been watching the debate then you know that this outrageous bill has gotten worse by the hour. Right down to the final minutes before the vote, Senators were adding language that further undermines our nation. For example, the bill calls for “consultation” with Mexican authorities before the agreed-upon fence is built!

+ + Roll Call Vote

Go here to see the Roll Call vote on the final bill:

+ + “Amnesty Republicans”

Here’s your list of “Amnesty Republicans.”
Remember — without these Republicans there
would be no amnesty bill!

+ + Don’t Lose Hope — Battle Just Begun!

And, our fearless leader over at CAII sounds the same:

Well, the Senate passed a bad bill, but I expected they would. Now don’t forget about the June 6th D-Day assault on the Capital. Those post cards can go to the house instead of Congress, and so will our calls, emails and faxes.

As soon as I hear the House is taking it up in Congress, we are going to hit the House. We have a real chance of defeating this in the House so don’t give up. If you wish to vent about this please do so to your Senators, and let them know how you feel about them passing a bill that will destroy our country. Remember how your cockroaches voted and write it down!

Here is a tool too look up how anyone has voted on any topic:
http://www.ontheissues.org/default.htm

Here is a tool that sends you an email that will tell you how your cockroaches vote on everything:
http://www.votenote.com/

Excellent tools I recommend.

It just astounds me how out of touch Wachingtun is, ya know?

Farrakhan in Cuba, Rubicon in Washington

Tuesday, March 28th, 2006

Sheesh, what an unbelievable day. We go from Reuters reporting on Calypso Louis’ words of treason in Cuba to the Blowhards in Washington crossing the line and pitting themselves against the people they represent.

Check out the choice words from Farrakhan in the Reuters story:

Farrakhan called for “regime change” in the United States on Monday and denounced “wicked” U.S. policies for turning the world against America.

“We need a new government, we need regime change in America,” he said at the end of a visit to Communist Cuba.

Farrakhan, who led the Million Man March on the Washington Mall in 1995 to promote black self-reliance, said the Bush administration’s domestic policies were “sucking the blood of the poor and the weak.”

The controversial African American leader defended Iran’s right to develop a nuclear energy program to reduce dependence on oil and said Washington’s opposition was a pretext for a war.

“The Muslim world should unite against America’s desire for a preemptive strike against Iran and Syria,” he said at a news conference.

Farrakhan said a similar pretext was used by Washington to invade Iraq “to rape the treasuries of the United States of hundreds of billions of dollars to be doled out to the friends of President Bush, Halliburton and Bechtel and associates.”

Farrakhan visited Cuba for a week to learn about disaster management in the wake of the U.S. government’s failure to cope with Hurricane Katrina last year in New Orleans, he said.

He thanked President Fidel Castro and blasted the U.S. economic embargo against Cuba as a “wicked blockade.” The U.S. government has no moral grounds to criticize Cuba, where education and health care are free, he added.

And now, for the point where the planets align and body snatchers have come and placed Republicans next to Ted Kennedy just to get a vote:

“A path to earned citizenship is what this bill is about,” said Sen. Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican who joined Massachusetts Democrat Sen. Edward Kennedy in offering the measure. He said it was “an eleven-year journey” to earn citizenship and candidates would have to pay a fine, undergo criminal background checks, learn English and pay their taxes.”

And, more stupidity from Spectroid:

“Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Arlen Specter, a Pennsylvania Republican, called it a “a measured bill.”

Is there ever going to be an end to this insanity? Is there ever going to be a time where people know what it means to respect their country? When are the primary border states going to stop being the sheep and enact their own laws and enforce the borders to keep their citizens safe and free from carrying the burden?

When are you going to stand up to your lily-livered, spineless, vote-gettin’ politician? The “Guard the Borders Blogburst” needs to turn into the “mail your dopey senator/congressman burst”. They need to listen, we’re getting slaughtered out here!

Should the United States be Submissive?

Thursday, March 16th, 2006

In comments regarding my post about the percent of GDP we spend on Defense, a reader thinks that by paying so much for retired and injured personnel the United States might think twice before engaging an enemy. I’m going to just take my thread and continue it here … easier for you all to read …

Nothing like that will happen at all. We have many injured during wars and conflicts. You’ll find that the men who fought in WWII are more apt to support our current action. War was hell back then. No one even wants to have our fighting men and women to be injured or heaven forbid killed in action. But there are more important things to be dealt with in this world.

Turns out that the politicians are the ones that want to reduce the benefits. The Joint Chiefs are paid by the politicians. Too much Washingtonization no balls debate and polls management is what is causing cuts in benefits - or more appropriately increases in fees to the patient/ex-military members and families - and that is what is criminal in this case.

If how much it costs is the only factor, that is where freedom breaks down. For the United States to be free there MUST be a United States Military. And that means that we support past and present brave fighting men and women.

Interesting to note, the UK spends a ton on previous officers and their families who have fought to protect the people. The enlisted force is a proud body of men and women, but they are less “supported” … it happens everywhere.

Just because it costs money to do what is right is NEVER a reason to sit in the corner with your thumb in your mouth. Someone else will come along and smack it out of your mouth - and you will always be their submissive.

I, for one, am NOT a submissive. I refuse to see my country cower in the corner.

K?        :)

What Drive-By Media and Vote Getters Hath Wrought

Tuesday, March 14th, 2006

All for the media’s hate for President Bush and the emotionally driven isolationists, we just kicked $16.5 Billion out of the US Economy. All in one day. It goes like this:

Angling for impeachment of President Bush in retaliation for Bill Clinton: $50+ Million in special news bulletins, hit pieces, fake polls
Fear of just one country yet ignoring others with evil ties: $6.8 Billion ports deal
Thumbing your nose at a new partner in a key part of the world: $9.7 Billion Boeing 777 deal
Realizing you just scored re-election for 2006: Priceless

I’m not saying that deals should not be handled with scrutiny. I am not looking the other way at security issues. And I’m not saying that the UAE is without any form of responsibility for events in the past. Yet, we are so quick to forget the following countries: Switzerland, Austria, Japan, Korea, Iran, France, Russia, China, and Vietnam. These are not listed for the simple reasons that are coming to mind as you read them. Past atrocities are everywhere and we are still doing a brisk amount of business with these countries.

The newest critically injured victim in this latest debacle is soon to be Boeing. They have one deal on the books and another in the making. If these deals tank, we stand to lose more than $11 Billion - which will go to the EU. The reason is the newest creation to come from Boeing, the 787. The demise of one deal won’t kill the company, but it is a serious dent.

Boeing is revolutionizing air travel every day. This article by James Wallace, published in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, has some staggering design and development firsts. The photo you see here is Section 41, which is the nose, cockpit, and forward fuselage. The 787 is to be built from a carbon composite material and is of single piece construction.

[AP Photo, The Wichita Eagle, Mike Hutmacher - August 25, 2005]

A few choice tidbits from James Wallace’s piece on the 787 dated August 26th, 2005:

“The 787 program represents a revolution in jetliner manufacturing. The fuselage barrels are made from one large piece of carbon fiber. They are the largest such composite pressure vessels ever made.”

“Such a composite structure is significantly lighter and requires almost no maintenance, unlike aluminum.”

As for the first customer delivery, Japan gets dibs:

“First flight of the Dreamliner should come in the summer of 2007, with delivery to the first customer, All Nippon Airways of Japan, in mid-2008.”

Now in last Thursday’s The Hill, Roxana Tiron has a piece titled “Dubai threat to hit back”. Here’s where the whole thing is starting to look like a ‘69 Impala with bald tires on an icy road:

“The Emirates Group airline will decide later this year whether it will buy Boeing’s new 787 Dreamliner or its competitor, Airbus A350. The airline last fall placed an order worth $9.7 billion for 42 Boeing 777 aircraft, making Dubai Boeing’s largest 777 customer.”

“Dubai in mid-February also established the Dubai Aerospace Enterprise, a $15 billion investment to create a company that will lease planes, develop airports and make aircraft parts to tap into growing demand for air travel in the Middle East and Asia.”

Do you realize that the most profitable airline in the UAE is Emirates Airlines? As of last year they posted record growth and profits. In their press release from October of last year, Emirates Airlines posted a $251 Million dollar profit in their first 6 months of operation of fiscal year 2005-2006. Taken straight out and doubling that for a year, that’s about $500 Million in profit in one year. They have brought $25 Billion in revenues to the UAE. And they are planning on spending $9.7 Billion with us for Boeing 777s!

Straight from NewsMax:

“A harsh reaction from Dubai could impact a pending decision for the Emirates Group airline to purchase Boeing’s new 787 Dreamliner - or go with the European competition, the Airbus A350.”

In a couple of articles on Strategiy.com I found some great information regarding the first orders of 787s: an order of 6
