Fear Of The Flood

Friday, June 16th, 2006

GUEST POST FOR: CAII - Coalition Against Illegal Immigration
CROSS POSTED FROM: CommonSenseAmerica

While Mexico praises its citizens for flooding across our border, it seems that we have worried our neighbors to the south with a little bit of law enforcement at our borders which may cause the tide to backwash.

From the Boston Globe:

Nearly 1 million people, many of them penniless, were turned back across the border last year, and analysts fear that tougher new U.S. border enforcement will inundate border towns with the desperate and the destitute.

Migrant shelter directors are scrambling for funds and considering hiring more staff to keep their doors open 24 hours a day in anticipation of a record number of migrants being repatriated.

“Everyone is getting ready because we’re worried there is going to be a mass deportation of people,” said Francisco Loureiro, who runs a migrant shelter in Nogales that houses up to 120 people a night. “We’re worried there’s going to be too many people to tend to, and we just don’t have the room for more.”

The article goes on to state:

“Repatriations are going to accelerate and the border zone is going to be hit the hardest with this, because the cities are going to be receiving people in search of resources and these towns don’t have them,” said Jorge Santibanez, director of the Tijuana-based Colegio de La Frontera Norte, a border research center.

“The government should be helping these migrant organizations and putting the infrastructure in place now,” he said.

That is probably the most sensible statement I’ve seen coming from south of the border in a long time. Mr. Santibanez recognizes that his own government should be doing something to help care for its citizens.

But, even more importantly, President Vicente Fox should be trying to boost his own economy so his citizens will be able to find jobs in their homeland instead of trying to send them north so he doesn’t have to assume responsibility for his nation and its people.

RNC - On My DO NOT CALL List!

Friday, June 16th, 2006

Alright, I get regular calls from the RNC on their “membership drives” (worse than KQED!). I also used to get calls from the RNC Small Business Council. Uh-huh, I was a member, but since they made four tries to get cash from me, with no result, they must have just stopped calling.

Now, it’s a different story for the RNC. Three times now I have let them have it, and I do apologize to the callers, it isn’t their fault. They are, after all, just the messenger. This time, in fact about 15 minutes ago, I joked around with the caller (she was a very nice woman) and made sure she knew I wasn’t mad at her. Then I said, “Hey, if they let you send them messages, tell them to wake up on more than just this amnesty thing! They’re not getting another dime from me until they wake up!”

She chuckled - I mean, who wouldn’t? The RNC is looking for more than just a dime from me! ;)

Is there no decency anymore in the RNC? I mean, I think Ronnie is turning in his grave right now (God rest his soul). Do these dolts not get that we really do know what they are up to? I love my party, and I love those that have the ethics and the guts to do what’s right - pun intended. But I gotta say, I’m so close to telling them to put me on the DO NOT CALL list.

Sheesh. Even if I were made of money, these guys still wouldn’t get a dime.

In Memory of President Ronald Reagan

Monday, June 5th, 2006

Today is the second anniversary of President Ronald Reagan’s death. To some, he was the best President the United States of America has had since Theodore Roosevelt. For conservatives, and our brave men and women of the United States Military, Ronald Reagan brought back the pride and prowess the United States of America, and her armed forces, so rightly deserve. Here is a beautiful aerial shot of the USS Ronald Reagan, CVN 76, steaming into port:

Photo by Photographer’s Mate Airman Kathleen Gorby

The full story, over at DVIDS Hub, can be found here. The following is a very brief story provided by the folks at DVIDS (see below for full information on DVIDS):

Ronald Reagan Underway Following Third Port Visit to United Arab Emirates
The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) passes Palm Island prior to arriving in Jebel Ali for a port visit to Dubai. Reagan is currently deployed as part of a routine rotation of U.S. maritime forces in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom, as well as conducting Maritime Security Operations (MSO) in the region. MSO set the conditions for security and stability in the maritime environment as well as complement the counter-terrorism and security efforts of regional nations. MSO deny international terrorists use of the maritime environment as a venue for attack or to transport personnel, weapons, or other material.

Thank you so very much, President Reagan, for bringing back the respect and honor to our armed forces. I was one very happy camper when your first year in office happened to coincide with my first day in the United States Air Force. By the time I was launching SR-71s and U-2s, you were in full swing and bringing the fight to all that thought the United States of America was just a ratty carpet in an old mud room.

Thank you and God Bless!

CAII is in Da House!

Wednesday, May 31st, 2006

Cross Posted from The Uncooperative Blogger

Sorry, I have not been blogging, but I have been on the phone all day with the House of Representative’s leadership. You will be happy to know it looks like they are holding strong against any path to citizenship for those here illegally, or temporary workers.

We discussed in depth what my opinions were on the subject and they were received well. I learned a bit about their problems with enfocement now, although I gave them a solution for that as well. hehe

After very lengthy conversations, I feel better about our chances of saving our country. Plan on losing the felony provision, because the Republicans don’t want it and tried to get rid of it previously but was blocked by the Democrats. Why you ask? Because it is a poison pill that the Dems want in it. The felony provision would make evey illegal tied up in the legal system and they want a fast track to deportation.

I made it crystal clear that no path to citizenship would be acceptable, and I was informed that is the message they are hearing, and there won’t be any path to citizenship. I informed them that “we the people” are paying attention and we will remember in November!

California IS slipping off into oblivion

Saturday, May 27th, 2006

I have serious doubts about conservatism when I wander around the blogosphere. I was hopping around and landed on the top story at California Conservative entitled, “Chill Out Dude”. Gary is writing about a memo circulated within the RNC by Matthew Dowd (did you get this memo? i didn’t either. guess we don’t rate, eh?) - and all the research supports the whimps in the RNC anyway, so, what’s new?

Welcome to Wachingtun DC, where’s the pork, eh?

Anyway, here is a comment I left on California Conservative’s website:

Huh? I’m a Republican and I never got this memo. Oh, you mean RNC to RNC memo. Well, that’s a vacuum chamber I’m not privy to share with our power brokers.

Is everyone who writes on this site FROM California? And, are we all watching this country go down the tubes, one southern border state at a time? This piece speaks to Conservatives? OK, maybe not me, since I’m not well read, learned, and a dumb ex-USAF tool jockey.

I still vote. And, I gotta tell ya, I’m gonna deviate this November. I’m tired. California politics is a complete joke. I am a NATIVE CALIFORNIAN, I served my country, and my country is serving me spoiled milk and dry cookies.

Bah.

The warning signs in this post are, “internal poll” and “79% of self-identified conservatives”. I’m sorry, but to be conservative one has to make the sacrifice of non-comprimise on a multitude of issues in front of us - one being this amnesty mess.

Compassionate Conservatives are busy looking around realizing that we are being compassionate to everyone but ourselves. Is there something wrong with those of us that want a better life for OUR OWN CHILDREN that arrived on this soil LEGALLY?!

The tripe that was voted on this week is a clear message to those of us that ARE conservative and are surrounded by a state’s worth of people possessing a serious lack of visionary control. Stop making concessions to a group of people that are TRULY looking for growing the government - and in the wrong direction.

Have you actually READ the text? If you did, why is this section in the bill:

Sec. 759 - Screening of municipal solid waste

And, don’t get me started on the funds that are gonna fly out the door based on this bill. READ the appropriations, set asides, and grant proposals. Sheesh, is anyone fiscally conservative anymore?

Oh, and S.2611 should never have passed. If it is so full of “numerous atrocities”, WHY DID THEY PASS IT?!

Roe-v-Wade was a compromise, too. Where are we today, I ask you all?

Eeeks, I’d say I came out of my box, eh? ;) And I’m sure many of you do not agree with me, and that’s OK. But one thing I have begun to realize is that no one cares anymore about themselves. I am not saying to be selfish is the goal. But, to truly look out for our children, and taking our current societal decay into account, are we really making a better world for them? Is their future sound? Are my two daughters going to be able to go out at night and be safe? Can my girls take a Senior Trip in High School and come home - not end up kidnapped and dead?

I ask you, is compromise really what you seek, or are you actually responding to the 20 plus years of brain washing the likes of Marlo Thomas, Phil Donahue, Merv Griffin, and Dave Letterman have heaped upon you?

I look inward before looking out. I have no skeletons in my closet so I speak from my own truth. I have no fear my daughters will be successful and prosperous in their lives. Yet, I have a serious amount of trepidation for our collective future.

I am self-centered, defined the right way: I am centered in my beliefs. I am sure you are too. But, can you please hear me out for just a moment? Why am I the wrong one all the time? Why, Gary and Matthew, do I have to look inward when so many in politics spend too much time looking outward?

I say, maybe they are wrong.

Eh, Welcome to Wachingtun DC! (deColores)

Thursday, May 25th, 2006

Yesterday, we got snarfed. The Senate has done it again and followed the Chevy Maverick of politicians, McCain. That guys no maverick, he’s a May Pole that’s not wrapped too tight!

Both the CAII and Grassfire.org are blasting the blogosphere with the current event of the day, today. And, the calls are going out to pound Wachington (my new pronunciation, like the mexicali twang?) with cards, letters, faxes, phone calls, and e-mails! These pinheads haven’t a clue what sort of fire they’re startin’, do they?!

Here’s how our firestarter over at Grassfire.org lays it down:

The Senate just passed it’s Hagel-Martinez Amnesty bill — what we call the “No Illegal Alien Left Behind Act” — by a final vote of 62-36.

If you have been watching the debate then you know that this outrageous bill has gotten worse by the hour. Right down to the final minutes before the vote, Senators were adding language that further undermines our nation. For example, the bill calls for “consultation” with Mexican authorities before the agreed-upon fence is built!

+ + Roll Call Vote

Go here to see the Roll Call vote on the final bill:

http://www.grassfire.net/r.asp?u=788&rid=10944521

+ + “Amnesty Republicans”

Here’s your list of “Amnesty Republicans.”
Remember — without these Republicans there
would be no amnesty bill!

Robert Bennett (UT): (202) 224-5444
Sam Brownback (KS): (202) 224-6521
Lincoln Chafee (RI): (202) 224-2921
Norm Coleman (MN): (202) 224-5641
Susan Collins (ME) (202) 224-2523
Larry Craig (ID): (202) 224-2752

George Voinovich (OH): (202) 224-3353
John Warner (VA): (202) 224-2023

+ + Don’t Lose Hope — Battle Just Begun!

And, our fearless leader over at CAII sounds the same:

Well, the Senate passed a bad bill, but I expected they would. Now don’t forget about the June 6th D-Day assault on the Capital. Those post cards can go to the house instead of Congress, and so will our calls, emails and faxes.

As soon as I hear the House is taking it up in Congress, we are going to hit the House. We have a real chance of defeating this in the House so don’t give up. If you wish to vent about this please do so to your Senators, and let them know how you feel about them passing a bill that will destroy our country. Remember how your cockroaches voted and write it down!

Here is a tool too look up how anyone has voted on any topic:
http://www.ontheissues.org/default.htm

Here is a tool that sends you an email that will tell you how your cockroaches vote on everything:
http://www.votenote.com/

Excellent tools I recommend.

It just astounds me how out of touch Wachingtun is, ya know?

Illegal? Yeah, We Gots Lots uh Illegal Stuff Here!

Thursday, May 25th, 2006

OK, sorry to invoke the vernacular in the title, but it leads me right into another title: Title 18 of the US Code. Someone at work and I were talking about how to dispose of an old flag - landed me here at US Code Title 18. Then, Ray Nagin had his picture taken wearing a US Army General’s uniform - hmm, Title 18 again. And today, Amy Proctor posts about the melon-heed (use Mike Myers voice from So I Married an Axe Murderer) that was interviewed regarding the US Military and attrocities in Iraq - dang if ya don’t land at Title 18 for what needs to happen.

There are sooo many sections in Title 18! Now I KNOW what these people spend all day doing in DC! Yikes!

If you want to know about what we should do to people who deface or treat Old Glory with disrespect, US Code Title 18 Section 700 is the place to go. Read on:

TITLE 18–CRIMES AND CRIMINAL PROCEDURE
PART I–CRIMES
CHAPTER 33–EMBLEMS, INSIGNIA, AND NAMES

Sec. 700. Desecration of the flag of the United States; penalties
(a)(1) Whoever knowingly mutilates, defaces, physically defiles, burns, maintains on the floor or ground, or tramples upon any flag of the United States shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for not more than one year, or both.
(2) This subsection does not prohibit any conduct consisting of the disposal of a flag when it has become worn or soiled.
(b) As used in this section, the term “flag of the United States” means any flag of the United States, or any part thereof, made of any substance, of any size, in a form that is commonly displayed.
(c) Nothing in this section shall be construed as indicating an intent on the part of Congress to deprive any State, territory, possession, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico of jurisdiction over any offense over which it would have jurisdiction in the absence of this section.
(d)(1) An appeal may be taken directly to the Supreme Court of the United States from any interlocutory or final judgment, decree, or order issued by a United States district court ruling upon the constitutionality of subsection (a).
(2) The Supreme Court shall, if it has not previously ruled on the question, accept jurisdiction over the appeal and advance on the docket and expedite to the greatest extent possible.

And, for those that think it is OK to wear the uniform of anyone, any rank, in the US Military, well, Title 18 Section 702 is your source. Read on:

Sec. 702. Uniform of armed forces and Public Health Service
Whoever, in any place within the jurisdiction of the United States or in the Canal Zone, without authority, wears the uniform or a distinctive part thereof or anything similar to a distinctive part of the uniform of any of the armed forces of the United States, Public Health Service or any auxiliary of such, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.

And, just for effect, I found out that there are some people out there wearing medals, ones that aren’t just handed out for fun people, or discussing their “honor” and are actually impersonating a member of the US Military. We can go to the scum layers for these types. Well, the House introduced an amendment to Title 18 Section 704 whereby a stiffer wording was to be employed to ensnare these vermin. To get the current flavor prior to the amendment, read on:

Sec. 704. Military medals or decorations
(a) In General.–Whoever knowingly wears, manufactures, or sells any decoration or medal authorized by Congress for the armed forces of the United States, or any of the service medals or badges awarded to the members of such forces, or the ribbon, button, or rosette of any such badge, decoration or medal, or any colorable imitation thereof, except when authorized under regulations made pursuant to law, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.
(b) Congressional Medal of Honor.–
(1) In general.–If a decoration or medal involved in an offense under subsection (a) is a Congressional Medal of Honor, in lieu of the punishment provided in that subsection, the offender shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than 1 year, or both.
(2) Definitions.–
(A) As used in subsection (a) with respect to a Congressional Medal of Honor, “sells” includes trades, barters, or exchanges for anything of value.
(B) As used in this subsection, “Congressional Medal of Honor” means–
(i) a medal of honor awarded under section 3741, 6241, or 8741 of title 10 or section 491 of title 14;
(ii) a duplicate medal of honor issued under section 3754, 6256, or 8754 of title 10 or section 504 of title 14; or
(iii) a replacement of a medal of honor provided under section 3747, 6253, or 8747 of title 10 or section 501 of title 14.

Pretty dang black and white there, eh?

So, when is someone gonna go tap ole Ray Nagin on the shoulder and ask him to turn himself in for impersonating a commissioned officer? I suspect, well, never - white guilt and all.

Chamberlain is back - Remember him?

Sunday, May 21st, 2006

If you think that this country is awash with the likes of Neville Chamberlain, there’s an interesting discussion going on about the NSA, Al Jazeera, and al Quaida over at Amy Proctor’s blog. A couple of us are getting some good comments up there and providing good arguments. The more the merrier, so join in!

Here’s a comment I left over there regarding Amy’s that defines clearly the 4th Amendment. Added is I had asked if anyone knew who was in power when Echelon was in full technical swing:

On the 4th Amendment, Amy …

YOU GO GIRL!!!

Nailed it again, M’Lady.

And, Amy, I know _you_ know the answer to the Who’s Who of 1998 question. It’s the Captain of Crocodile Tears, y’all … that man could curl a lip on command like no one I know.

Disingenuous? I’ll leave that to all of you to decide.

For me, I’ll take the war-mongering Reagan and Bush over the aspirin-plant bombing, no answer for the USS Cole yellow-bellied, blue-hat order taking, bible-toten yet never reading or living it at all, lack of conviction for this country sell out of a man.

This country deserves to be protected not sold out to the highest bidder or tin horn dictator. And God save us from the likes of those that want to be accepted by the boneheads in the EU! One more Chamberlain-like politician or actor/singer in this country and we’re gonna go down like every other country in the EU, when they were at their peak. Sheesh.

It’s a shame that so many have forgotten the past. The disgrace of today is a simple rehash or repeat of the Chamberlains of yesterday.

God Bless the United States of America, and those who truly protect her from assault and destruction.

Grassfire Secure Our Borders Petition

Tuesday, April 11th, 2006

Alright everyone, time to make this “grassfire” into a full on FOREST FIRE! Get out there and get your friends to sign the petition. Every little bit helps!

GUEST POST FOR: CAII - Coalition Against Illegal Immigration
CROSS POSTED FROM: Grassfire Secure Our Borders Petition and The CAII

From: Grassfire
Date: Apr 11, 2006 5:47 PM
Subject: To George W. Bush, “Secure Our Borders.”

4/11/06

Dear friend,

I have just signed a national petition urging our elected officials to do everything in their power to Secure Our Borders and stop the flow of illegal aliens entering into our nation.

This is an issue of national security that demands your immediate attention. Please click below for more information:

http://www.grassfire.org/42/petition.asp?PID=10944466&NID=1

Please consider taking action with me.

Mrs. Susan Bonner

P.S. For more information, please read below.

+ + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +
Special Petition Alert from Grassfire.org Alliance
+ + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +

Following 9/11, the U.S. committed to winning the war on terror. But here in the U.S., porous borders, increased crime and violence from record number of illegals crossing into the U.S. have citizens fearing for their safety, and demanding action in securing our borders.

How serious is the problem?

Estimates put the illegal population as high as 10-13 million, with more crossing each and every day–taxing our legal system, our hospitals, spiking crime rates and stealing critically needed benefits:

  • In 2004, 1.15 million illegals were apprehended. That is more than 3,100 every day, and a 24 percent increase over 2003.
  • Of the 1.15 million, 23,000 had criminal records. 84 were murder suspects, 37 were suspected kidnappers, 151 were wanted on sexual assault charges, 313 were robbery suspects, and nearly 2,700 were implicated on drug-related charges.
  • In 2004, Border Agents made 8,577 drug seizures and confiscated 1.4 million pounds of illegal narcotics with an estimated street value of $1.62 billion.

(Taken from a Washington Times Report).

Given these kinds of statistics, and the serious threat to our national security, it is time to put the “illegal” back into illegal immigration, and Secure Our Borders!

  • 225,000 Citizen Petitions Needed

Grassfire is urging citizens from across the nation to take immediate action with us by signing our petition to “Secure Our Borders”:

http://www.grassfire.org/42/petition.asp?PID=10944466&NID=1

This issue poses a very real threat to every man, woman and child living in our nation, and demands attention. That’s why Grassfire wants to rally 225,000 citizen responses to present them to key lawmakers–demanding they make the issue of illegal immigration a NUMBER ONE PRIORITY this year.

Unless strong, decisive action is taken, the flow of illegals into our nation will only increase–further threatening our national security.

Thanks for taking action with us.

Grassfire.org Alliance

P.S. Recently, Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), and Sen. Jon Kyl (R-AZ) introduced comprehensive legislation targeting illegal immigration. Called The Comprehensive Enforcement and Immigration Reform Act of 2005 (S. 1438), it dramatically strengthens enforcement and reforms immigration laws.

Grassfire will be presenting hundreds of thousands of grassroots petitions supporting S. 1438. We are urging ALL citizens who want tighter border security to support this legislation by adding their names to our petition:

http://www.grassfire.org/42/petition.asp?PID=10944466&NID=1

After signing this petition, please alert your friends, family, and co-workers, letting them know that Grassfire is standing up for secure borders and a secure nation!

Thanks for your help.

Bloggers for The Minuteman Project

Monday, April 10th, 2006

TexasFred of Ace in the Hole has started a campaign to bring greater awareness to bloggers out there about the huge Minuteman Project going on right now. There are folks blogging from our borders as things happen, and as they experience them. These volunteers are trying to make a difference, and they are there during a time where no one in Washington DC has their six.

That, my friends, is criminal.

If we can do nothing else, we need to support The Miniteman Project. Get this graphic, post your own version, and link to the Minuteman Project:

Hop on over and see all the folks blogging to help spread the word. And, try to hammer on your representatives, anyone you can poke at in the media, and especially Fox News. More airtime getting this project out there is very important.

America Cannot Forget Our Southern Borders!

The Fox has been in the Hen House!

Friday, April 7th, 2006

And this Fox keeps stealing eggs from my basket and tossing them to other Foxes, on a ranch far away. It’s as if “Robin’s Hood” has been transplanted into today - yet it’s the wiley Fox that is getting the bounty. And our ranches, our hen houses, are California, Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico. These hen houses haven’t had a guard dog or a door for decades, and they have been falling apart year after year. Some day there’ll be no more eggs - where will the Fox go then?

Watch your six people, there are 46 more states to go - lots of eggs left so get them while they’re free!

I’m a bit tired of being told this situation is “complicated” and requires a “world view”. I am sick of having guilt thrust upon me by others that have no concept or understanding of my situation, history, and plans for the future. I shall not be talked down to by those who believe they know the only solution. There are many solutions, and there are many steps to be taken to get some of them implemented. Can we at the very least stop arguing and start doing something?

Tell me again, am I so stupid? Do I not have enough information to come to my own decisions or conclusions? Can it be the case that it is you, the one with all this “compassion” that is without enough information?

Here’s a backdrop, and you fill in de colores.

My mother is 1st generation American of German and Irish descent. My father emigrated from the United Kingdom a short time after he served his first country in the RAF during WWII. He followed the process, he forfeited his British citizenship and passport for American ones, he worked hard, he retired after 2 heart attacks and 37 years to watch his company go bankrupt - twice. He has crap for a pension. The American way - yep, when times get tough the kids will step in. That is the way we were raised, no matter how proud my parents are, they shall not be destitute.

Should I make you pay for what happened to them? I say no. Is that wrong? Then why is everyone else so quick to make me pay for the lack of planning and problems of others? Perplexed? Uh-huh … me too.

My roots go back into Poland and Prussia, and south to the Black Forest and close to Garmisch and Austria. None of my forefathers were rich. They were tradesmen, soldiers, and cobblers - and maids, cooks, and house keepers. One grandfather made glass for the war effort and the other made machine parts for British Spitfires and bombers. Each generation fought to get one or two rungs higher - always looking to their children’s future. No one in my history was crass or uncaring to those less fortunate.

All anyone had to do was ask. We have very huge hearts and we step in to help. All the men in my family served - either here or abroad - in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and the Royal Air Force and Royal Navy. We have given and sacrificed for our families and our friends and our neighbors.

But, to take from their children’s children?! We defend our honor, and their future. And for the gifts that come only from hard work, why should so many be given something so precious - just for a vote, 10 minutes of air time on the National News, or a hug from Alec Baldwin?

Is being an American that damn cheap?!

Are we just supposed to hand you citizenship? So many people worked hard to get here, and work very hard to stay here. And when the call goes out they raise Old Glory and fight for what this country is all about. And that is NOT a free ride, but the ability and opportunity to work hard and make your children’s children have a better life.

Oh, you noticed I said Old Glory and not some other banner? Uh-huh, that’s right, the American flag is our standard - the standard of those who are Americans. Big clue, if you want to be an American, our flag is red, white, and blue, and it does not run, it is not beneath any other flag, and it is to never touch the ground.

EVER!

Giving of oneself is what is at risk here. American’s are the most giving country. How many disasters last year happened in other countries, and the first people to jump to the ready and help were, who again? What country immediately shifted resources and manpower to save countless thousands from a fate that should befall no one? Have we all forgotten so fast how giving we are?

Have we all forgotten who came to our aid after September 11th, 2001? I remember five countries who truly came to help. Only three still truly stand by our side. (in my opinion those three are the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand - the rest just talk a good story)

When you steal, when you break the law (a law that is never enforced, which is a crime), when you are snatching bread from your neighbors mouth - is that right? Is that Christian? Are we all to just open our doors and let the burglars take what they want, whenever they want? (Kath of In Training has a great post about the UK making burglary OK - sheesh!)

I know that this subject is tough. I know that the people looking for refuge and a safe place to raise their children is all they want. I know that the country that is just a step away is enabling the poor, and also the criminal element, to hop right over to the Circle K known to them as the USA. I know that to be a Christian is to be forgiving and to open your heart, your arms, and your pocket book to help out in times of need.

But, when need is not really need, but the mismanagement of a government and the complacency and lack of fortitude of those in power at home to make things better, well, the rules change because it isn’t really need - it’s greed. Fox and the other Foxes are greedy, and they do not care that they are taking our eggs. In fact this is the most overt case of bowing to socialism I have ever seen, in our own country. And we all know the success of socialism and communism - this is greed of a different kind.

Greed does not care. Greed is boastful. Greed is deriding. Greed is arrogant.

Greed is a sin.

I believe that the American Cardinals, Bishops, and Priests best get off their assesdonkeys burros and teach our southern brethren a thing or two about being Christians. They need to stop telling me - I have a huge family history dedicated to being a Christian, a Patriot, and a Soldier, Sailor, Airman, and Marine. Our politicians need to stop enabling this situation and start making every life and the American way something to really be proud of - not a cheap chat with Matt Lauer or Vanity Fair.

Remember, greed is a sin.
Remember, socialism and communism fails.
Remember, tin horn dictators don’t care about you.
Remember, America is not the free mini-bar for the rest of the world.

Fighting Far Away While Home’s Given Away

Thursday, March 30th, 2006

All these protests around illegal immigration have brought some interesting things to light. Most of all it makes me mad that our brave fighting men and women are in a foreign land, fighting to protect us, their greatest gift being away from home and family while keeping us safe. And here at home, the supposed elite and intelligentsia are subverting their efforts with election year vote getting and weak-kneed stances in protecting our country. It’s like someone has sent the entire defense of our country to another field of battle, and we’re left here hangin’ in the wind!

I bet if you asked our troops, “Would you rather be here at home guarding our borders?” you’d hear a resounding “YES!”

My favorite plane picture, ’cause it’s got our flag on an F-117! Oooh …

We all know that the fight is there, off our shores, to keep the pressure on and keep the hate machine from destroying us. Yet, within our own borders we are being overrun. Our leaders (sic) no longer realize that they are still lacking the smallest amount of courage when it comes to facing our enemies, staring him down, and putting him in his place. So, with that in mind, here’s my open letter to our lost boys in Washington:

TO: US Senators and Congressmen
FROM: Those who protect you every day
RE: Your Own Pursuit of PERSONAL GAIN!
CC: Everyone that REALLY supports us

Dear Sirs and Madames,

Please refrain from using us as pawns in your selfish pursuit of power, money, and vacuous praise from those in the media. When the President says, “Go!”, we go, no questions asked. Whether you like it or not, he’s in power - you wanna command us, GET THE TOP SEAT! All this shrill rhetoric and back-stabbing use of the media should be done on your own time, and without involving us in any way. You wanna smack your next door neighbor around from the great state of [ENTER STATE HERE], call ‘em on the carpet and do it. But, we are not the stone you throw in this fight to be top dawg.

Take it outside or get a room. It’s shameful!

Oh, and stop whining, quit the lies, and be honest and admit you all are just gathering votes in this election year. Sheesh, we’re not STUCK ON STUPID! Illegal immigration is, and has always been, against the law! Your great body of myopic pinheads have already set down the requirements and rules from which immigrants are allowed into this country. Open arms does not mean open pocket books. Stop giving away my hard earned money to keep you in office. Oh, uh-huh, right, you’re tough on terrorism, you’re a “hawk”, please! Find some BRASS ONES, Sheesh! If we waffled like you people do, hills get lost, morale falls fast, and good people second guess themselves - that is when people die!

Oh, right, you wanted to continue to get elected, get paid $140k a year, and treat us all as inferior dolts incapable of finding you out. Oh wait, all us uninformed doofuses have blogs - time to change your tune again before everyone else finds out. It’s a mess, and you all are at the root of it. Let’s be honest here, you really DO want illegal aliens in this country. You Democrats know that they benefit from your “MotorVoter Act” by using fake IDs and drivers licenses to vote for you Democrats! And, you shameless Republicans are giving away our right to enjoy our hard earned pay and benefits so you can get reelected and not have to make a stand.

And, McCain and Kennedy? What the HELL is going on?! Have the planets aligned in such a way that we are soon to be crashing into Uranus?! (pun intended) If you hate us so, just slap a “Kick Me” sign on my back!

That’s right, votes, power, poll numbers, new voters from other countries, fickle friends in the media, kisses from the Europeans … spare me.

You’ve got two hands and two feet, use them to do one of these two honorable things:

1) Stand up, wave Buh-Bye, and walk out
2) Pick up a shovel, dig some fence posts, come on out and truly support us

Your mouth? Keep it in park, we’ve heard enough!

Sincerely,

THE TROOPS AND PROUD AMERICANS FOR A SAFER COUNTRY

Wish they could hear us. If you haven’t already, please go here and vote. And then, use their contact for found here and give ‘em another ear full.

These pinheads.

See Ya!

Break the Glass and Pull the Alarm!

Wednesday, March 29th, 2006

Alright, Libby Dole is the front person for the NRSC (National Republican Sentorial Committee). I like her - I wish she and Condaleeza would run - or maybe back-to-back Republican women? 16 YEARS of great decisions from both these women would suit me just fine! Well, from my NewsMax mail I got a note to fill out this survey on illegal immigration - a where do you stand survey. The Republicans want us to fill this out, ’cause I guess they cannot hear us. Well, GO THERE NOW and fill this thaang out - shout as loud as you can!

You can get to them via this contact form, and make this even louder. These boneheads need to hear that we have had it with wishy-washy policies on immigration. Then, to top it all off, when illegal immigrants take us all down, the country hurts all over.

C’mon you rich pinheads! Mow your own lawns in protest! Take your own garbage out! Take the time to clean your own counters and take your friggin’ kids to school - YOURSELF!

Anyway, go fill out the survey. And, ensure that you have put this link up on your blog, too! We need as many people as possible to fill out the survey.

Be HEARD! Don’t let the HERD take over and trample you!

Farrakhan in Cuba, Rubicon in Washington

Tuesday, March 28th, 2006

Sheesh, what an unbelievable day. We go from Reuters reporting on Calypso Louis’ words of treason in Cuba to the Blowhards in Washington crossing the line and pitting themselves against the people they represent.

Check out the choice words from Farrakhan in the Reuters story:

Farrakhan called for “regime change” in the United States on Monday and denounced “wicked” U.S. policies for turning the world against America.

“We need a new government, we need regime change in America,” he said at the end of a visit to Communist Cuba.

Farrakhan, who led the Million Man March on the Washington Mall in 1995 to promote black self-reliance, said the Bush administration’s domestic policies were “sucking the blood of the poor and the weak.”

The controversial African American leader defended Iran’s right to develop a nuclear energy program to reduce dependence on oil and said Washington’s opposition was a pretext for a war.

“The Muslim world should unite against America’s desire for a preemptive strike against Iran and Syria,” he said at a news conference.

Farrakhan said a similar pretext was used by Washington to invade Iraq “to rape the treasuries of the United States of hundreds of billions of dollars to be doled out to the friends of President Bush, Halliburton and Bechtel and associates.”

Farrakhan visited Cuba for a week to learn about disaster management in the wake of the U.S. government’s failure to cope with Hurricane Katrina last year in New Orleans, he said.

He thanked President Fidel Castro and blasted the U.S. economic embargo against Cuba as a “wicked blockade.” The U.S. government has no moral grounds to criticize Cuba, where education and health care are free, he added.

And now, for the point where the planets align and body snatchers have come and placed Republicans next to Ted Kennedy just to get a vote:

“A path to earned citizenship is what this bill is about,” said Sen. Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican who joined Massachusetts Democrat Sen. Edward Kennedy in offering the measure. He said it was “an eleven-year journey” to earn citizenship and candidates would have to pay a fine, undergo criminal background checks, learn English and pay their taxes.”

And, more stupidity from Spectroid:

“Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Arlen Specter, a Pennsylvania Republican, called it a “a measured bill.”

Is there ever going to be an end to this insanity? Is there ever going to be a time where people know what it means to respect their country? When are the primary border states going to stop being the sheep and enact their own laws and enforce the borders to keep their citizens safe and free from carrying the burden?

When are you going to stand up to your lily-livered, spineless, vote-gettin’ politician? The “Guard the Borders Blogburst” needs to turn into the “mail your dopey senator/congressman burst”. They need to listen, we’re getting slaughtered out here!

Should the United States be Submissive?

Thursday, March 16th, 2006

In comments regarding my post about the percent of GDP we spend on Defense, a reader thinks that by paying so much for retired and injured personnel the United States might think twice before engaging an enemy. I’m going to just take my thread and continue it here … easier for you all to read …

Nothing like that will happen at all. We have many injured during wars and conflicts. You’ll find that the men who fought in WWII are more apt to support our current action. War was hell back then. No one even wants to have our fighting men and women to be injured or heaven forbid killed in action. But there are more important things to be dealt with in this world.

Turns out that the politicians are the ones that want to reduce the benefits. The Joint Chiefs are paid by the politicians. Too much Washingtonization no balls debate and polls management is what is causing cuts in benefits - or more appropriately increases in fees to the patient/ex-military members and families - and that is what is criminal in this case.

If how much it costs is the only factor, that is where freedom breaks down. For the United States to be free there MUST be a United States Military. And that means that we support past and present brave fighting men and women.

Interesting to note, the UK spends a ton on previous officers and their families who have fought to protect the people. The enlisted force is a proud body of men and women, but they are less “supported” … it happens everywhere.

Just because it costs money to do what is right is NEVER a reason to sit in the corner with your thumb in your mouth. Someone else will come along and smack it out of your mouth - and you will always be their submissive.

I, for one, am NOT a submissive. I refuse to see my country cower in the corner.

K?        :)

WMD in 1987 Iraq - Saddam Authorizes Use

Thursday, March 16th, 2006

It’s amazing what you can find when you are looking around for something else. You know, you went to go find a screwdriver and you came back with a hammer. OK, the goal was to find some information regarding a situation local to Texas. Instead, at the Longview News-Journal an interesting headline caught my eye: First Declassified Iraq Documents Released. I kept checking the date and stuff, but, yeah it’s actually recent - Wednesday night around 22:18 from the AP (Assoc Press). The story leads you to the Foreign Military Studies Office, Joint Reserve Intelligence Center, Document Exploitation Documents site. There I uncovered this interesting little document with the title, “Usage of Special Equipment”. I wondered what on earth could be in here, so, check it out:

[you’ll find this entry begins at page 3 of the PDF doc]
NVTC0152
Republic of Iraq
Office of the President No. 7371
Secretary Date: 3/31/1978
General Military Intelligence Directorate
Top Secret, Personal
To: General Staff Headquarters
Subject: Utilizing Special Equipment
1. The President/Leader (may God save him) ordered our
directorate to study, with the professionals, directing a
surprise strike against (Khomeini Guards bases located
within the quarters of the first division of Barazani’s
saboteurs) using special equipment, and the possibility of
executing it in any of the following methods (Air Force,
Army Air Force, artillery).
2- Studied the President Leader’s (may God save him) order
with the professionals, and we suggested the following:
A- Postponing the execution of the strike on Khomeini
Guards inside Barazani’s quarters until next June, because
these targets are located on the Iraqi-Turkish border. It
is preferable to change these targets to be away from the
Turkish boarders and villages.
B- Begin planning to execute similar limited operations
aimed at the bases of Iran’s agents.
2- Approval on both suggestions, under item 2 above, has
been obtained. Our Directorate studied the locations of the
Iran Agent’s bases, and choose the targets listed
hereunder, basing its decision on the size of the enemy
presence, the effect of this presence on internal security
in the Northern Region, and the available capabilities of
arms and fire power:
A- Bases of Iran Agents located in Balisan Basin (villages
of Balisan, Totama, Ghitti, Skeikh Wisan) next to the the
main road in Khlayfan Village vicinity.
UNCLASSIFIED //FOUO
UNCLASSIFIED //FOUO
NVTC0152
B. Bases of Iran Agents in the Basin of villages of
(Tkiyyeh,Bilkjar,Siyuisnan) annexing Karah Dagh.
4. The above mentioned targets, in paragraphs(A-B)under
item 3, are important bases for Iran’s agents and members
of Iranian enemies, are far away (as targets for special
equipment)from our units. They are considered more
appropriate than others to strike with our equipment for
being located in low regions which helps the chemical fumes
to settle. We can also treat them with available ways (air
force, tubular bombers, Samtiyyat (Helicopters) and at
night
5. Our directorate suggested striking both targets,
referred to in item 3, during this period using two thirds
of available special equipment (Ricin) plus one third of
available special equipment (Mustard Gas) and keeping the
balance for emergency situations that might arise in the
operation theater.
6. The top secret, personal and urgent letter No.953/965/k
dated March 29, 87 from the President’s Office Secretary,
stated the following:
“Approval of striking has been obtained provided the
results are exploited… for the purpose is not only to
inflict losses among the saboteurs, but also to coordinate
with the Corps… please advice prior to striking”.
Please be informed and order the execution of what was
stipulated in the above letter of the President’s Office-
Secretary, and advise your sanction. With esteem.

Subject/Utilizing Special Equipment
Your top secret -, personal and urgent letter 7/J2/808/K
dated March 12, 87
1. The following are our available capabilities to utilize
the special equipment against the Khomeini Guards bases
located within the saboteur’s quarters of Barazanis First
Division.
A. At the present time, climate conditions do not help in
Utilizing (Sarin) due to snow coverage of the designated
targeted areas, which could lead to diluting the said
element and transforming it to a non-poisonous element.
This condition applies to (Tabun) element too.

B. A large quantity of (Mustard) gas is available, but its
potential effect is considered a (miracle) except in cases
where a concentrated dose is taken. In addition, its
evaporation becomes slow in snow regions.
C. Air force, tubular bombers and (Samtiyyat?) can be used
at night for this purpose.
2. We recommend the following:
A. Postpone executing the strike against Khomeini Guards
located within the Barazani Group’s quarters until next
June.
Because the targets lie in the Iraqi/Turkish boarders, it
is preferable we choose targets that will not impact the
Turkish boarder units, or the Turkish villages.
B. Start planning to execute similar limited operations
against the bases of Iran’s agents.
Please review, and advise us suggestions… With esteem

Mentioned in these communiques is the use of ricin, sarin, to include for effect, mustard gas. They discuss the use of helicopters, rockets, mortars, all kinds of delivery. There is even a statement to delay the action due to the time of year (winter is bad for their activity it seems). And, they are explicit in carrying out an operation that is far from Turkey, but close enough to hit Iran - the goal being to take out the saboteurs, or the Khomeini Guards.

People, if the Administration continues to release more and more of these sorts of documents, it’s gonna be a field day for those of us that believe in what we have undertaken: the active and preemptive response to threats to our country.

This GWOT must be won. We must not give up. We must remain ever vigilant.

God Bless America, God Bless our fighting men and women and their families, and God Bless the President of the United States, George W. Bush.

UPDATE: go check out Amy Proctor’s recent post on WMDs, “Media Ignores Bush Exoneration”, and how the media refuses to exonerate President Bush. Basically, the Drive-By Media is blindly assuming we the people don’t read. Here’s a snippet from Amy’s post:

“Finally, President Bush has ordered that this critical evidence confiscated by U.S. forces after they liberated Iraq be made public. Bush’s initial order came on Feb. 16, the day after ABC News broadcast snippets from 12 hours of Saddam audiotapes obtained by FBI translator and former U.N. weapons inspector Bill Tierney.”

So, from the release of documents, I was able to find the above information related to Saddam authorizing the use of WMDs (ricin and sarin are WMD, you lost wondering puppies of stupidity!).

Thanks again, Amy!

US Military Wastes Precious Budget Bucks

Wednesday, March 15th, 2006

You hate the US Military and you demand that defense spending halt - no more funding. You think that we spend too much to protect this country. You’d love to fix the world, starting at home, and fund other programs. Or, just send all the bucks to New Orleans and watch them party it away - ’cause, Bush caused the hurricane - you say New Orleans deserves it.

Funny. But to truly understand just how much is spent on salaries for our brave fighting men and women, materiel (weapons, vehicles, etc), and the operations, you need the right measuring stick. I mean, do you really know how long six inches really is?

I thought not.

In the March 2006 issue of Air Force Magazine (you need to be a member of the Air Force Assoc to subscribe), the Associate Editor Tamar A. Mehuron has the answer: measure against GDP (gross domestic product - stay with me here). To take this one step in providing you with the ammo to eliminate moonbat rhetoric, the following chart shows the US Defense Budget Spending to GDP percentage up against the top 50 countries in the world. Take a look for yourself:

[The Chart Page by Tamar A. Mehuron (PDF only)]

We’re near the bottom, 22 up from the bottom. We spend 3.8% of GDP on Defense. These are in 2004 dollars, and does not take into consideration that which other countries hide from us. For this to be accurate, all parties should be reporting accurately. I suspect no one does, ’cause Iran, Lebanon, and China are all 1.1% to 0.1% (respectively) less than the US. That’s really not that much folks.

The UAE spends far less on defense. Wonder why? We help them and they don’t get attacked. Israel spends far greater, we help them, but they are surrounded - I’d rather have Israel spending more and be alive than the alternative.

Want your eyes to pop out of your sockets? Check out NORTH KOREA! They spend 25%!!! Whoa, Nellie!

Check out the Saudis, Syria, Yemen, Russia, and Cuba. They’re not exactly spending at Wal Mart prices either!

This whole post started in response to these comments I read about the UAE Ports Deal debacle on Sister Toldjah’s blog. One of her readers tossed out the tired and worn out drivel … oh, here’s the exchange:

“The next fuss will be over the greatest Socialist organization in America, the Defense Department. $600 billion dollars a year is far too much money to give to this entitlement program. 1/2 of that amount should be more then enough. Peace”
[Comment 88819]

“At the rate of $2 billion each and every week, time is the one thing we don’t have. New Orleans needs money, we need a universal health care system, we need a ton more money to get our seaports safe. We are still there only so bush and the boy’s can save face at this point. Peace”
[Comment 89196]

Now, after the first to lame attempts from the commenter without a blog of his own, CavalierX steps in with a good one:

“>At the rate of $2 billion each and every week

Aww, it’s kind of cute when Liberals pretend to be fiscal Conservatives…

>New Orleans needs money

…especially when the mask slips seconds later and they start screeching for money for their social programs. Personally, I don’t want my tax dollars rebuilding a city in a flood zone, below sea level, that was destroying the environment by its very presence. You do realise that the city was causing the mass destruction of the wetlands? Or don’t you care about the environment?”
[Comment 89362]
CavalierX

So, the unknown comic tries to pitch a slider:

“Tax dollars are money. Money is budgeted. Too much money is budgeted for the Defense Department. It should be cut by at least $225 billion in 2007. Peace”
[Comment 89555]

And, CavalierX hits it outta the park:

“>Too much money is budgeted for the Defense Department.

It’s the only Constitutionally-mandated expense, and one of the few legitimate expenses, of the Federal government. It’s all the useless feel-good programs that don’t actually have any effect on the problems they’re supposed to solve that waste my money. If it weren’t for the Defense Department, you’d be speaking German or Japanese. On the other hand, there would probably be forced euthanasia for the useless.”
[Comment 89557]
CavalierX

Really, we don’t spend very much. In fact, we should be spending more. Let’s just whack the pay scales in Washington DC and give that money to all these pet programs the moonbats want. Next, divert the other expenses to the Defense Budget and give all the fighting men and women more pay, more benefits, and full on retirement ’til we meet our maker.

Sounds fair to me!

What Drive-By Media and Vote Getters Hath Wrought

Tuesday, March 14th, 2006

All for the media’s hate for President Bush and the emotionally driven isolationists, we just kicked $16.5 Billion out of the US Economy. All in one day. It goes like this:

Angling for impeachment of President Bush in retaliation for Bill Clinton: $50+ Million in special news bulletins, hit pieces, fake polls
Fear of just one country yet ignoring others with evil ties: $6.8 Billion ports deal
Thumbing your nose at a new partner in a key part of the world: $9.7 Billion Boeing 777 deal
Realizing you just scored re-election for 2006: Priceless

I’m not saying that deals should not be handled with scrutiny. I am not looking the other way at security issues. And I’m not saying that the UAE is without any form of responsibility for events in the past. Yet, we are so quick to forget the following countries: Switzerland, Austria, Japan, Korea, Iran, France, Russia, China, and Vietnam. These are not listed for the simple reasons that are coming to mind as you read them. Past atrocities are everywhere and we are still doing a brisk amount of business with these countries.

The newest critically injured victim in this latest debacle is soon to be Boeing. They have one deal on the books and another in the making. If these deals tank, we stand to lose more than $11 Billion - which will go to the EU. The reason is the newest creation to come from Boeing, the 787. The demise of one deal won’t kill the company, but it is a serious dent.

Boeing is revolutionizing air travel every day. This article by James Wallace, published in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, has some staggering design and development firsts. The photo you see here is Section 41, which is the nose, cockpit, and forward fuselage. The 787 is to be built from a carbon composite material and is of single piece construction.

[AP Photo, The Wichita Eagle, Mike Hutmacher - August 25, 2005]

A few choice tidbits from James Wallace’s piece on the 787 dated August 26th, 2005:

“The 787 program represents a revolution in jetliner manufacturing. The fuselage barrels are made from one large piece of carbon fiber. They are the largest such composite pressure vessels ever made.”

“Such a composite structure is significantly lighter and requires almost no maintenance, unlike aluminum.”

As for the first customer delivery, Japan gets dibs:

“First flight of the Dreamliner should come in the summer of 2007, with delivery to the first customer, All Nippon Airways of Japan, in mid-2008.”

Now in last Thursday’s The Hill, Roxana Tiron has a piece titled “Dubai threat to hit back”. Here’s where the whole thing is starting to look like a ‘69 Impala with bald tires on an icy road:

“The Emirates Group airline will decide later this year whether it will buy Boeing’s new 787 Dreamliner or its competitor, Airbus A350. The airline last fall placed an order worth $9.7 billion for 42 Boeing 777 aircraft, making Dubai Boeing’s largest 777 customer.”

“Dubai in mid-February also established the Dubai Aerospace Enterprise, a $15 billion investment to create a company that will lease planes, develop airports and make aircraft parts to tap into growing demand for air travel in the Middle East and Asia.”

Do you realize that the most profitable airline in the UAE is Emirates Airlines? As of last year they posted record growth and profits. In their press release from October of last year, Emirates Airlines posted a $251 Million dollar profit in their first 6 months of operation of fiscal year 2005-2006. Taken straight out and doubling that for a year, that’s about $500 Million in profit in one year. They have brought $25 Billion in revenues to the UAE. And they are planning on spending $9.7 Billion with us for Boeing 777s!

Straight from NewsMax:

“A harsh reaction from Dubai could impact a pending decision for the Emirates Group airline to purchase Boeing’s new 787 Dreamliner - or go with the European competition, the Airbus A350.”

In a couple of articles on Strategiy.com I found some great information regarding the first orders of 787s: an order of 6 Boeing 787s comes from LCAL (Low-Cost Aircraft Leasing) and 20 from IFLC (International Lease Finance Corporation). LCAL is a Hong Kong based company and IFLC has its roots in Nepal. These two orders total about $3.5 Billion, about a third of the deal being brokered by and with The Emirates Group (Emirates Airline). Running the math, Boeing needs 6 deals to equal one deal with the UAE.

Sound tough to weigh what one should do when dealing with a partner in trade? Sure, if you actually do your homework, you can find out just how little our elected representatives read! They think Bush is a yokel, sheesh, get a load of those on the Hill!

Bah! Calling the American people ignorant and treating them as such is a mistake. Giving us false information with which to gain a personal advantage that in the end hurts our economy is a tragedy. This hurts our already bad reputation in the world, and may embolden those that wish to do us serious harm - without use of our ports!

Washington is full of Pantomime Horses, and we’re all locked in a life and death struggle …

My Blood Was Boiling Over at Amy’s!

Thursday, March 9th, 2006

I just finished a HUGE diatribe over at Amy Proctor’s Blog. Man, some of her subjects and the folks that post there get me all fired up! Sheesh … I saw that the Chief from The Truth was over there, so, howdy Chief!

      :)

Anyway, here’s my comment on the post called Academia VS. US Military:

For those that clearly have nothing good to say about the military, or have said that the entire US Military would be uneducated (stupid) if it weren’t for universities, or that our institutions today would be just fine without the US Military, many questions come to mind for me. And if I wrote those questions, I think some might take them as an afront, or something said that has no merit or rooted in fact. Instead, maybe I’ll just take a moment to reflect on what is going on around us all, yet from our side.

You may not want us. You may not like us. You think we are being elitist because we speak often of patriotism, duty, corps, self-sacrifice, honor, code, chain of command, leadership, past wars, conflicts, and covert ops. Some even think we are dumb and blind followers without a reasoning or rational bone in our bodies. You call us facists, baby killers, drones, jack-booted thugs, parasites, war mongers, pleebs (that’s a good one, I got that one in the Newark Airport while PCSing back from USAFE), and extremists. You think we are out of touch and spend too much of the budget and more should be going to our schools (hmmm, that’s a funny one too), or welfare, or just a cause to which you have become attached. You do not believe that any foreign force would actually attack us, in our sleep, without provocation, and try to destroy everything that makes this country great. You praise those that take to foreign soil and speak out against this country, yet look down your nose at the man or woman taking off their hat, placing hand over heart, during the National Anthem. You think it a cause to protest out in front of hospitals where young soldiers are in pain, families are visiting, and their pain is even greater. You do not know the copious amount of time spent studying world history, war, foreign and domestic battles or small skirmishes, political systems and culture, as well as language studies coupled with deportment (military bearing is the term we use). You may not believe in preemptive actions to stave off an even greater threat. You may think that HUMINT (human intel) and SIGINT (signals or communications intel) are abhorrent and should be stopped, even though you’d love to have the answers to a test you are about to take.

Let’s all be honest. There are a significant number of personnel in the US Military that are career military and have more experience, training, and love for this subject which affords them a sort of self-assuredness - often seen as arrogance. There is more to this than meets the eye, and with enough intel and experience, you might sing a different tune.

Dirty little secret: you need us.
Happy little fact: we know it.
Huge Guarantee: we’ll always be there to protect.
Obvious Result: we get no thanks, ’cause less and less of you learn because we have gotten better at what we do.
Biggest Reaction: we are degraded for being who we are.

And that last one, biggest reaction, my friends, is bigotry. Bigotry goes many ways, is in many forms, and takes all comers.

This has nothing at all to do with funds for universities. Research isn’t the only game in town. The private sector, especially entrepreneurship, is more beneficial to the US Military than universities. The situation where toys for the military come from universities is becoming less and less prevalent. Not everyone in development is swimming in degrees. Not every degree is applied to the actual job at hand.

It isn’t the book or the professor, it is the student. And, books don’t come from universities but private publishers. Odd how that works, too, you can pay to have your words printed and people will buy them. Amazing! Do I need a professor to make this all happen?

Boy Scouts, Recruiters on campus, Religion, Conservatism, Capitalism, US Military, Big Business, Pro-Life … c’mon, we all know the drill.

Rius has a great book, “Marx for Beginners” where I learned a great deal, sorta self-taught on some stuff (got your six, Chief). Walking through East Berlin during the height of the Cold War - more learning goin’ on. Standing face to face with a foreign power hell-bent on removing me from the face of the earth - try it, it’ll show you new paths to enlightenment.

What Does the US Get from the UN?

Wednesday, March 8th, 2006

Can you say a poke in the eye, bupkiss, or an extended maintenance plan that always expires just days before the thing ya bought goes Tango-Uniform! (ok, T-U was often used on the flightline - sorry folks, tits-up, busted, not goin’anywhere, dead)

Uh-huh, that’s right. What’s the deal, we pay and pay and they vote against us and tell us that we are too big for our britches. The EU takes every opportunity to trash the United States. Tin horn dictators love to tip their huge buckets in our well, and then spit in it for good measure.

Let’s see what’s out there at NewsMax in their special report out today:

U.N. Report Card: Handful of Nations, Including Israel, Stand with U.S.

.:elided:.

“NewsMax examined 12 key General Assembly votes taken on issues of critical importance to the U.S., and found that only four countries - Israel and the Pacific Ocean nations of Palau, Micronesia and Marshall Islands sided with the U.S. on most of the issues.”

“The rest of the U.N. members voted against the U.S. position the vast majority of the time, and dozens of countries voted along with America ZERO PERCENT of the time.”

“These nations include some of the biggest recipients of U.S. foreign aid…”

.:elided:.

So, here’s the cash that goes out, and the support that goes in:

  • Turkey GETS $1.007B/yr (excludes military support) WE GET 12 key issues Turkey votes with us 0%
  • Ethiopia GETS $594M WE GET another 0% support
  • Colombia GETS $524M WE GET another 0% support
  • Egypt GETS $460M WE GET another 0% support
  • Jordan GETS $224M WE GET another 0% support
  • Peru GETS $229M WE GET another 0% support
  • UN GETS US pays 22% of total UN Budget WE GET pressure to lift Cuba embargo, slap Israel, and nuclear disarmament

“Even some of America’s closest allies voted against U.S. interests. France, Germany, Italy, Japan and South Korea, for example, all sided with the U.S. on just 8 percent of the votes.”

Here’s the NewsMax feature called “The U.N.’s Great Follies”:

- The U.N. voted to remove its forces from Rwanda in the early days of tribal conflicts there. Result: More than 900,000 Tutsis were slaughtered in April 1994.
- The Iraqi people were defrauded of at least $1.8 billion in revenue from the oil-for-food program designed to alleviate civilian suffering resulting from sanctions against the Saddam Hussein regime. Alleged wrongdoers included the U.N. secretariat.
- Sudan won re-election to the U.S. Commission on Human Rights in 2004 despite potentially genocidal atrocities in the Darfur region.
- U.N. peacekeepers in the Congo allegedly used food and money to pay for sex with girls as young as 12.

Sheesh. Wanna know where all your tax dollars go? Do you think we are spending too much on the US Military? Do you think we fund big oil? Is it your opinion that we don’t spend enough on schools?

Actually, about $3 Billion is listed right there, a couple of paragraphs up, did ya realize that?
